- Draw Accurate Plasmid Maps: SimVector is an exceptional tool to draw publication quality plasmid maps. The graphics can then be enhanced with patterns, styles, lines, and colors.
- Vector Graphics- SimVector generates plasmid map images in vector graphic format for Adobe Illustrator 10 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2002.
- Customize Vector Maps- Choose from hundreds of fonts, colors, styles and fill patterns for enzymes and features with a click.
- Multiple Cloning Site (MCS) Display: SimVector identifies the MCSs by interpreting GenBank header annotations when available, or you can specify them manually. It even has the smarts to list only the enzymes that cut within the MCS and nowhere else. This special format we call the Bracket View. For displaying MCSs in a unique format, with enzymes one about the other in a vertical list, this feature is very useful for commercial companies.
- Multiple Fonts: The program can now display any enzyme or feature name using multiple fonts. It is common to list an enzyme thus: Hind III, where the bacterium of origin is listed in italics, but not the number. Coupled with the MCS bracket view, SimVector now has all the functionality to draw plasmids and export them in several vector graphic or bitmap formats.

- Mac OS X 10.5 users, please download the program from the download section of our website (www.premierbiosoft.com) and reactivate it using your email address. The Smart Updater will not work for this release, owing to changes in the file formt.

Vectoraster 3.0.1 provides users a powerful and useful graphics utility for creating vector-based raster patterns from bitmap images. The raster patterns and point shapes can be freely configured to produce different styles. The resulting rasters can then either be exported to an EPS, PDF or TIFF-file or simply copied into most graphics software.

VectorFileConvertor converts WMF formatted files into PDF or EPS format so you can view this common Windows format on a Mac. Many Windows applications can export or save to WMF files.

WMF stands for "Windows Meta File" and is a vector and bitmap graphics format.

There are some limitations in this conversion process due to the disparity between the methodologies behind WMF and PDF respectively. See the help file for details.

The demo set has no 'OK' button so you can see the plug-in functionality but you cannot save any of the vector designs created by the plugin. To install, add the plug-in to the plug-ins path of Illustrator (R) Pre-select the fill / stroke color. Access the plug-in via the filter menu and the category 'AVP '. To tryout various settings and effects, click the TUMBLE button (this randomizes all the settings). Or select items from the presets dropdown (right of the dialog)
