Remote Buddy 1.3
Remote Buddy - Control your Mac via your Apple Remote more>>
It gives the user control over the rest of his computer via the remote control and also improves the available functionality in those apps that already supported the remote control by themselves.
The highlights at a glance:
* Completing the media center setup
Probably the most prominent point of criticism about Front Row is that in its current state it lacks support for anything television. Remote Buddy is now changing the game! With a single remote, a user can activate or deactivate Front Row with all its media capabilities and then switch back and launch EyeTV 2 to watch live television or recorded video.
Users can choose recordings and TV stations via the onscreen menu supplied by Remote Buddy and use their Remote to pause playback, control volume, rewind and fast forward. Using Remote Buddys inbuilt virtual mouse, even recordings can be programmed!
* One stop interface
Remote Buddy provides its users with a one-stop interface that allows them to control almost anything on their Mac just with the remote control. Besides tools that allow the user to emulate keyboard and mouse, eject CDs, terminate applications and much more, Remote Buddy also can control applications directly. It does this through specialized plugins, so called Behaviours.
Already included with Remote Buddy are Behaviours for iTunes, Keynote 3, PowerPoint, Photo Booth, QuickTime Player, EyeTV 2, DVD Player, VLC Media Player and Real Player. Since IOSPIRIT GmbH provides source code to developers and also continues to work on new Behaviours themselves, a lot more can be expected to come along!
To make its usage even more comfortable, Remote Buddy features a set of intelligent algorithms that can automatically choose the best fitting behaviour for the currently running applications. Also the user can always view the currently active button mapping or return to the hierarchical menu of available Behaviours by pressing the Menu button.
* Virtual keyboard and mouse
Even if there is no specific Behaviour tailored to an application, the virtual keyboard and mouse can be used to move the mouse cursor, drag and drop items, open context menus and make a selection, emulate cursor keys or replay strings that have previously been entered. With this, a user can do anything, from replaying often used sentences at work to playing games and solving minor problems with a keyboard and mouseless media center Mac.
* Unlimited expandability, easy installation
Behaviours - plugins for Remote Buddy - are a smart technology. A double click in the Finder installs a Behaviour and automatically inserts it in Remote Buddys menu structure. Thats really it. It just works.
* Not just Applescript
Written in Cocoa and tightly integrated with Remote Buddy through a carefully defined abstraction layer, Behaviours provide superior performance, stability, reliability and flexibility. They are real binaries, not scripts, which makes them more efficient, versatile and capable of doing things you just cant do in Applescript. Behaviours are implemented as Cocoa bundles, so they can bring along the resources they need and provide a clean, lightning-fast interface to Remote Buddy and the applications they connect to.
Remote Buddy provides you with a one stop interface that lets you control almost anything on your Mac just with the remote control.

Hardware Monitor Remote 4.8
Hardware Monitor Remote is a powerful program that makes it quick and easy for the Mac OS X operating system. more>>
Hardware Monitor Remote 4.8 is a powerful program that makes it quick and easy for the Mac OS X operating system.
Hardware Monitor Remote allows you to use a hardware monitoring service on a remote Macintosh system. Other computers can contact this system via network (local area network, wireless network or the Internet) to receive readings from all available hardware sensors.
Hardware Monitor allows you to monitor the computer it is running on in the standard configuration. Hardware Monitor Remote extends its capabilities to monitor additional computers in the network as well. You can connect to an unlimited number of computer simultaneously and monitor them all from a single workstation. (In practice, the actual number may be limited by the speed of your network.) Of course you can also use several monitoring stations to receive data from an arbitrary number of other computers.
Major Features:
- Start and stop the remote monitoring service by an easily usable control window.
- The monitoring service is perfectly integrated into Mac OS X and runs in the background. No user has to be logged in.
- A TCP network connection will be created on a configurable port number.
- Specify in what time intervals SMART temperature sensors should be accessed, in order not to disturb sleep mode of hard drives.
- Import definitions of artifical operating system sensors from Hardware Monitor to allow remote monitoring of these probes, too.
- Let the service record history data and automatically save it in periodic time intervals.
- Control external LCD display units to monitor "headless" systems that don't have a display screen connected. No user has to be logged in.
- Let the monitoring service launch automatically during startup of the operating system if desired.
Enhancements:
- Support for Mac OS X 10.3 Panther has been removed. The required minimum OS version is now Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
- Because the application does not need to support Mac OS X 10.3 any longer, controlling the service could be simplified. Manually controlling whether the system should auto-launch the monitor service at startup is no longer necessary. The system will automatically keep the current run state the service had during last shutdown.
- Alphanumeric LC displays connected via an IO-Warrior chip will no longer be disconnected when the background service was started during a login session and the user logged out.
- The application no longer displays dialogs to save privileged preference settings when the control window is being closed.
- Added a feature to monitor the size of swap space memory which is actually in use.
- On PowerPC hardware, support for S.M.A.R.T. hard drive sensors accessed via SATA interfaces has been enhanced. The application will now accept the temperature sensors of unknown SATA drive models. (This has always been the standard on Intel-based computers.)
- The support for hard drive sensors controlled via proprietary drivers of Sonnet and FirmTek has been enhanced.
- When stopping the monitoring service, shutdown of attached alphanumeric LCD boxes has been enhanced.
- Corrected a problem where the temperature values displayed for the cores of the Intel P7350 processor have been shifted by 15 degrees Celsius.
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or later
