Monkey Bar has two main functions. Scheduling your Monkey utilities and monitoring your Monkey utilities. In addition Monkey Bar allows you to launch any Monkey utility and gives you access to the log files of all three.
Monkey Bar places a status menu in your menubar, this shows the current status of each Monkey utility, including last run success or failure, running now, and alert messages. This menu is always available, no matter what else you are running.
Be sure to add Monkey Bar to your login items to ensure that all scheduled functions are run at their appointed times.

- SchedulerScheduling is the primary function of Monkey Bar. Having great programs to do all maintenance, updates and backups does no good it they are not run routinely. Monkey Bar allows you to set it and forget it. You can schedule what and when to run each of the Monkey utilities. Care is taken to not conflict with other tasks and to insure scheduled functions run if their default time was missed. The scheduling window is divided into three segments, one for each utility. Each function can be scheduled by Never, Daily, Weekly, Monthly and the Hour and Minute to run. A current months calendar is displayed using color coded cells to provide a complete overview of scheduling. Monkey Bar forces the user preferences of each utility, with a few special exceptions. Monkey Bar also allows you to change some settings in each utility. Each utility should be scheduled when your computer is likely to be on and running. Each function is designed to be run in the background and while they can be running while you do you daily routines, it will slow your system down a bit and is best run with no other applications running. Also some updates require a restart of your computer, you should be aware that doing something that requires saving while updating could be a problem.
- Verify Schedules
Used to test the current schedule with one based one current saved settings. Each utility will be tested and corrected if a mismatch is found. The next run for each utility will be displayed.
- Log Manager
The log files can be viewed for each utility. Log file can be printed and cleared also. Log files are updated as functions are run, so you can see what is being done as it progresses. To switch between logs, click on the appropriate monkey utility icon.
