Flying Buttress 1.4
Flying Buttress is designed to make using the network firewall built in to Mac OS X quick and easy more>>
By using BrickHouse to enable your computers firewall, you can help prevent unauthorized villians from gaining access to your computer via your internet connection.
Flying Buttress also helps you use your firewall to guard against denial of service or resource-based internet attacks. Network attacks will bounce off the firewall to prevent your computer from slowing down or crashing.
While Mac OS X is fairly secure as installed, it also includes a powerful network traffic filter or firewall that can both prevent break-in attempts and keep your computer from being used in attack on another computer.
Unfortunately, the default installation leaves it wide open, and you must manually add rules or filters using a command line tool called ipfw. You need to use Terminal.app to do this. My mom isnt going to be able to do this.
Thats where Flying Buttress comes in. Flying Buttress provides a simple and easy interface to setting and activating your firewalls filters. It also includes a firewall monitor window to allow you to see how often each filter is used.
Filter settings can be saved and switched quickly, and imported and exported to and from disk. Settings can be created by knowledgeable users and admins, and distributed to others to disable specific or recently discovered attack.
Main features:
- Firewall filters that include qualifiers on host or network addresses
- Firewall filters that operate on other than TCP or UDP protocols
- Firewall filters that include the whole range of ipfw qualifiers, such as IP options, ICMP types or TCP flags
- Per-filter logging configuration, including the ability to log allowed connections and the option to not log certain types of denied connections
- NAT port forwarding or other custom NAT configuration
- Different filter configurations on different network interfaces.
- A persistant, searchable firewall log entry database with graphical log viewer
- Scriptable control of your firewall, such as via cron or other shell automation
- Access and ability to easily edit the raw firewall configuration text, including an integrated ipfw filter syntax checker.
- The ability to switch between different firewall configuration sets quickly and easily.
Enhancements:
- Changed name to Flying Buttress
- Fixed startup item issue under 10.3.9 or higher.

Enemy Engaged 1.0
Youll need to master your chopper, starting at the ground school, youll also be expected to take part in realistic combat... more>>
Youre flying either the Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 "Comanche", the latest in US produced warfare technology, or the twin-rotored Kamov KA-52 Hokum B "Alligator", the jewel of Russian next-generation attack helicopters. Your chopper is loaded with tons of weapons ranging from Euromissile HOT II to the Longbow Hellfire and the laser guide Vikhr-M air-to-surface missile.
Youll take either the pilot or co-pilot seat, leaving the other to the computer or another player, if youre playing on a network or the Internet. If you choose to, you will have full responsibility for dodging missiles and flying to your target area as close to the ground as posible - appreciating in the process the complexity of all the in-flight physics involved. Otherwise you will be in charge of the guns and making sure the targets are down before they can lock their rockets on you.
In order to win a campaign, a number of key enemy installations must be either captured or destroyed. A successful strike against one of these key installations has just been carried out and, as a direct result of this, a group of Comanches are sent to evaluate the damage caused. When the Comanches are within range of target, reconnaissance data is transmitted. The information shows that the enemy installation has been sufficiently crippled, and so a flight of Blackhawk assault helicopters loaded with Marines are sent to capture the installation.
Flying back from the recon mission, the Comanches are attacked by enemy AAA. The Comanches can either retaliate themeselves, or the can request assistance from friendly aircrafts in the area. A nearby group of A-10s is just returning from a close air-support mission and is happy to oblige. The Comanches land back at base and re-arm, but the base is running low on ammo, and so a group of transport helicopters are tasked with flying to a nearby factory to pick up supplies to restock the airbase.
In the meantime, the Blackhawks are approaching the enemy installation that is to be captured.
However the enemy has pre-empted this assault and a flight of Havocs are patroling the base. fortunately, the Blackhawks brought along an escort of Apache Longbows and are also aided by a pair of F16s, which just so happened to be operating in the area. Pretty soon, the enemy is overpowered and the Blackhawks land within the perimeter of the installation, and friendly forces are one step closer to winning the war.
Main features:
- Truly dynamic campaigns?
- Oooh yes... The dynamic campaign system initiates a war between two sides with the complete range of ground, sea and air forces working together intelligently, making you part of a much wider scenario than the linear scripted "go there, do that" type of campaign.
- Not a single event in a battle has been pre-programmed or scripted. The behaviour of the units (troops, 60 different types of ground vehicles, plus other aircraft and ships) and the consequences of their actions are modelled, meaning the events unfold by themselves.
- Choose between 3 campaigns
- Each one of these is based on an international warfare situation.
- Outstanding graphics
- The graphics engine is the same as the one in Apache Havoc (Razorworks key technology), but with much improved textures and resolution, making the aircraft, cockpit, vehicle and battlefield views nothing short of stunning with attention to detail shining through. We ought to mention the quality of the sound as well - its really immersive and adds to the awesome athmosphere of the game.
- Realistic handling
- You dont have to be an expert chopper pilot in real life to realise that the handling of both choppers "feels" right.
- If you have experience in other chopper sims you will find the control and cockpit layout extremely user friendly. This said, Enemy Engaged is everything but a simple sim. Its actually quite complex, like all good sims, but its also extremely accessible and you can find yourself flying in the middle of a battlefield in no time. The balance between complexity and fun is quite remarkable.
- Anyone looking for their first flight sim will make an extremely wise choice by picking Enemy Engaged. The game has a lot of options that will make it easier for complete newbies to get used to what the hell is going on, while still getting the feeling that theyre actually doing something in the game...
- The impressive list of keyboard commands will delight the hard-core flight sim addicts, but hardly anyone will be able to master in one day (or even in a week) all there is within Enemy Engaged.

X-Plane 8.6
X-Plane is the worlds most comprehensive, powerful flight simulator more>>
Welcome to the world of props, jets, single- and multi-engine airplanes, as well as gliders, helicopters and VTOLs such as the V-22 Osprey and AV8-B Harrier.
X-Plane comes with subsonic and supersonic flight dynamics, sporting aircraft from the Bell 206 Jet-Ranger helicopter and Cessna 172 light plane to the supersonic Concorde and Mach-3 XB-70 Valkyrie. X-Plane comes with about 40 aircraft spanning the aviation industry (and history), and several hundred more are freely downloadable from the internet.
X-Plane scenery is world-wide, with scenery for the entire planet Earth AND MARS! (thanks to the Mars Orbiting Laser Altimeter, which mapped that planets elevation) You can land at any of over 18,000 airports, as well as test your mettle on aircraft carriers, helipads on building tops, frigates that pitch and roll in the waves, and oil rigs.
Weather is variable from clear skies and high visibility to thunderstorms with controllable wind, wind shear, turbulence, and microbursts!
Rain, snow and clouds are available for an instrument flying challenge, and thermals are available for the gliders! Real weather conditions can be downloaded from the internet, allowing you to fly in the actual weather that currently exists!
X-Plane also has detailed failure-modeling, with 35 systems that can be failed manually or randomly, when you least expect it! You can fail instruments, engines, flight controls, and landing gear at any moment.
While X-Plane is the worlds most COMPREHENSIVE flight sim, your purchase also comes with Plane-Maker (to create your own airplanes) World-Maker (to create your own scenery), and Weather Briefer (to get a weather briefing before the flight if you use real weather conditions downloaded from the net).
X-Plane is also extremely customizable, allowing you to easily create textures, sounds, and instrument panels for your own airplanes that you design or the planes that come with the sim.
X-Planes accuracy (in flight model), scope (in aircraft and terrain coverage), versatility (in aircraft type and weather conditions), add-on programs (in aircraft and scenery editors), user-customizability, downloadable aircraft, and downloadable scenery makes it the ULTIMATE flight simulation experience for Macintosh AND Windows platforms.
X-Planes flight model can handle flying wings and fly-by-wire systems, as needed for a B-2 simulation.
Version restrictions:
