Find In Files is a Mac shareware application that searches a set of files (or all files) for some text.

Why would you use Find In Files?

Here_s an example: Suppose you have a bunch of HTML documents, and one or more of them has some information you need. You could open every one of the files and search them by hand, or use Find In Files to search for you. Simply enter some key words in the _Search For_ text area, optionally enter a creator and file type (or click the Select File button, and open any file to get the files creator and file type), select the folder where the search begins, and click on Search.

If Apply Permissions is checked then when you click on the file icon in the main window your new permissions will be applied to the file or folder.
What is unique about Mod File is that it lets you veiw all the current settings as well as those that will be applied. You can readily see the current permissions as well as the current Owner and Group.
Preferences allow you to keep your password so that you dont have to continually authenticate your changes. There is also an option to prompt you before changes. You can also see the full path to your file or folder by Command Clicking the dragged items icon in the main window.
