JumpBox for Jasper 1.1.1 offers users a full-featured appliance that deploys locally, or hosted to major virtualization, and cloud computing platforms.

A JumpBox bundles the operating system with the application and all its dependencies into a single ready to run bundle. This allows you to focus on working with the application while not having to worry about getting it installed. It also means that the application can be deployed on any x86 platform regardless of what platform the application is written for. All that is required is the JumpBox, some virtualization software like VMware, a network that assigns dynamic IP addresses (most do), and a computer with enough RAM and disk space.

Jasper Server is a server component that makes it possible to deliver valuable business intelligence based on data generated by mission-critical business systems. When used in conjunction with the client-side "iReport" component, one can create browsable, drill-down reports that allow non-technical users to extract insights that can be used for making business decisions. Some of the more notable features of Jasper Server and iReport are:

1. An intuitive user interface to quickly guide users through deployment.
2. A web-based control panel for simplified management of system functions.
3. A backup system that enables data security and portability.

Enhancements:

• This release improves the backup and restore mechanism. The included version of Jasper BI has not changed.
• It should be possible to restore from backups created by version 1.1.0 of this JumpBox.
