WidgetFX is an open-source desktop widget platform written from the ground up in the JavaFX Script language.
WidgetFX is able to run widgets written in JavaFX Script and Java, and to take advantage of the latest features in the Java Consumer JRE (Java SE 6 Update 10).
How WidgetFX differs from existing Java deployment options (Applets/Web Start):
- Low-memory Footprint - Within a browser applets can share a single VM, but once they are dragged to the desktop to be "web-startified" they lose this capability. For a large number of widgets, this will quickly add up to a large footprint both in memory and JVM startup time.
- Open on Startup - Widget containers both startup automatically on boot and also start any widgets that were open on close. Ambisonics Player is a simple player for ambisonics files. Ambisonics Player is programmed in Java, which means that (in theory) should be able to run on all platforms that java runs on. Java-sound must also be implemented on the platform.
It has been developed on Windows XP running Java 1.5, and also tested on linux 64-bit system (Gentoo AMD64) using sun-jdk-1.5.0.03. So these combinations should be fine. I dont think it works with earlier java-versions than 1.5, atleast not very good.

Using RedBox
To use RedBox, simply double click the applications icon. You will be presented with a window asking for your preferred IRC server and username. Clicking Ok will
connect you to the IRC server. Once you are connected, you will need only type the text /join channel

Replacing channel with the channel of your choice. For example, to access the Nitrogen Narcosis Software support channel, you would connect to irc.freenode.net,
then type /join #NNSoftware.

When you launch Listen? you see a small, simple Control Window with two pushbuttons. Click on the "Setup" button to bring up the Setup Window.

The Setup Window provides a choice of three modes plus sliders to set the time between sounds (ten seconds to sixty minutes).

When you first launch Listen! a folder titled "ListenSounds" is placed in the Users/~/Documents folder. (On Windows XP, this folder is created in the My Documents folder.) Wav sound files with a ".wav" prefix placed in that folder are used by this application.

When you next launch Listen! these sound files will be recognized and used.
