WEP Key Maker 1.1
WEP Key Maker - Generates WEP key for Airport networks more>>
WEP Key Maker helps create hexadecimal keys which third party devices typically use.
Generating such a key from a pass phrase makes it easy to create and reproduce a key without writing it down. The key can be copied from WEP Key Makers dialog and pasted directly into Airport dialogs and third-party software. WEP Key Maker also creates keys of other lengths.
xwepgen 0.8
xwepgen lets Mac OS X users use WEP passphrases to connect to encrypted wireless networks more>>
Devices connecting via encrypted 802.11b network use a WEP key to encrypt the data they send. An actual WEP key looks like: 57EAB0FF for a 40-bit (64-bit) link, and similar, though longer, for a 104-bit (128-bit) link.
However, some 802.11b hardware and software (Apple products, many Linksys, Lucent, D-Link, and other products) have the user input a passphrase instead of an actual WEP key. These products then use some algorithm to convert the passphrase to a WEP key.
The problem Mac users face is that Apples passphrase-to-key algorithm differs from the one used by most other products. Using xwepgen, Apple users can input a Linksys/DLink/Lucent/etc. passphrase, and get the WEP key to use in airport password dialogues.
xwepgen is freely ditributed under the GNU General Public License. If you have any problems or questions, visit the projects Sourceforge page or e-mail apparissus@users.sourceforge.net.
Usage:
1) Get the passphrase and encryption method (40-bit or 104-bit) from thenetwork admin. Also, if the encryption method is 40-bit, find out which WEP key (1 through 4) the network is using. If unsure, try 1 first, then try theothers.
2) Start xwepgen and enter the passphrase in the appropriate field. ClickGenerate WEP keys.
3) Tell your Mac to connect to the network, and where it requests the AirportPassword, enter the WEP key. Make sure the wep key begins with a $. (For example, if my WEP key is 50FFA0FF, then I would enter $50FFA0FF).xwepgen inserts the $ for you by default.
4) Finally, click OK, Apply, or whatevers appropriate, and watch in wonder asyou connect to the Linksys/D-Link/Lucent/etc. network! Enjoy.

Entropy 1.3
Entropy - Widget auto generates wep and wpa keys using true-random bytes. more>> Entropy - Widget auto generates wep and wpa keys using true-random bytes.
Entropy automatically generates WEP and WPA keys using true-random bytes. It uses various sources/providers for these entropys: EntropyPool and /dev/random, HotBits (radioactive decay) and Random.org (atmospheric noise).
Generate encryption keys in these formats:
- WEP, 64-bit, hexadecimal
- WEP, 128-bit, hexadecimal
- WEP, 256-bit, hexadecimal
- WPA-PSK, 8-character, ASCII
- WPA-PSK, 20-character, ASCII
- WPA-PSK, 63-character, ASCII
System requirements:
- An active connection to the Internet is needed to use some of the sources of entropy.
Enhancements
- Andrew Hedges did the beta testing for this release and even suggested many of the features. Have a look at his Dashboard Widgets.
- You can now choose one of four different sources/providers of entropy: radioactive decay/HotBits, atmospheric noise/Random.org, various sources/EntropyPool and /dev/random.
- Generated keys will be selected automatically (just press Apple C to copy).
- Fixed a profile bug. The profile "WEP, 64-bit, Hexadecimal" and provider "/dev/random, Local sources" are now selected automatically on first run.
A9 Web Search 1.0
A9 Web Search - Search the web using Amazons A9 Search Engine. more>>
The AirGrab Password allows you to create random passwords that are highly secure and extremely difficult to crack or guess due to an optional combination of lower and upper case letters, numbers and other symbols. Generate strong passwords by one click for access points, WEP and WPA encryption in WiFi Networks, websites, servers, routers and etc. Including numbers and special characters in a mixed case password will generally create a more secure password, which would be exponentially harder to recover using a brute force password discovery method. You can specify which types of characters will be used in the password. It is recommended to use all available characters to generate a complicated, strong password. On the other hand, passwords with special symbols, for instance, are harder to remember, so you might wish to exclude those characters if you need to keep the password in your head. The longer password you have, the stronger it is. Minimum recommended length of the password is five-six characters. Eight or ten character passwords are just right for most web services. Simple click "Generate" and get your password generated and ready to use! When the password is generated, select it using mouse cursor, copy and paste into the appropriate field. Therefore, these password strings are just for you. No one else can ever see them or get them. You may safely take these strings as they are, or use chunks from several to build your own if you prefer, or do whatever you want with them. Each set displayed are totally, uniquely yours - forever.
