One of my most frequent instructions to Mac OS X users when I get a help request is to open Disk Utility, select the startup disk volume icon, and click Repair Disk Permissions. Quite often that is the only necessary step to get things working again. So I decided to write this script to let you schedule automatic permission repair for once a week. I dont think it could be made much simpler.

There are several automatic tasks that are routinely scheduled for your Mac OS X system by default. If you care to examine the schedule for them and possibly make adjustments, you might be interested in using a free program called Cronnix.

dWeather is a cocoa java utility to look up the local forecast from weather.com using your 5 digit zip code.

dWeather will give you both the current weather conditions as well as a weekly forecast.

I wrote this software because I didnt want a docklet or a toolbar application that is running all the time. I find this is a waste of resources and is also often buggy.

qwikALERT is a simple little widget to remind you of those little things that you would otherwise forget.
It could be anything you like, such as change channel now, call back the guy who was on lunch, or even stop playing with your computer and go do something else!!
Simply type in the message you want to get, the date and time of that alert and press enter. Alerts are added and managed quickly and easily via the widget but alerts will interupt whatever your doing, in any application.

- Time entry now allows valid 4 digit 24 hour times without a separator.
- Time entry now allows entry of times that have passed: if the time entered is AM, then the date is set to Tomorrow / if the time entered could be either AM or PM, PM is assumed.
- Fixed bugs caused by Leopard (& hopefully other updates!).

Streamers automates the process of recording streams, using Ambrosia Softwares WireTap, and converting them to .m4a or .mp3 in iTunes.

You can build a list of streams to record immediately or to schedule for later recording. The program also lets you maintain a library of shows that can be recorded on a weekly, monthly, or daily basis. (Streamers uses iCal for scheduling.) The source is included, and others are encourage to tinker - and especially to try their hands at adding .wma and QuickTime support.

As a practical matter, I use this to maintain the latest of various NPR shows on my ipod. Some of these are included in the Library by default.
