Free watch tv from software for mac

I discovered a brilliant command line program called watch while using my Linux box at work the other day. watch executes a given program periodically, showing output in full screen via ncurses. From the man page:

watch runs command repeatedly, displaying its output (the first screen-full). This allows you to watch the program output change over time.

watch can be extremely handy in viewing changes to commands like ps or ls over time. All in all, a very neat tool. But back home on my PowerBook, I found that watch isnt shipped by default in Mac OS X. A little digging around told me that this program was part of the procps Linux package -- distributed under the GNU General Public License. A little tinkering and tweaking was all it took to get the program running in the Mac OS X shell.

I suspect that others may also want to use this great tool on Mac OS X, and have therefore provided a package.

Its the old Makefile grind, no Package Installer, but the way I see it, if youre the sort of person who finds watch useful, youre bound to know how to compile and install UNIX software. Just download the tgz archive, change to the watch-0.2-macosx directory and type:

make
sudo make install

That should do the trick. If you have any suggestions on improvements, etc, dont hesitate to contact me.

Site Watch will perform monitoring on any website with a fast and simple green light or red light.

• Green = your site is currently up.
• Red = your site is currently down.
• Yellow = Site Watch is currently checking.

On the back is an error log that logs all the date and times the site is found to be inaccessable. You set the site to watch and the interval.

Pocket Watch is yet another screen clock.... It started out as an xClock clone and suddenly went horribly awry.
Now you can basically skin the clock with any TIFF, PNG, GIF, or JPEG image you like! Also includes the usual options... transparency, colors, on top, drop shadow... etc.. Enjoy!
This software is donationware... if you want to, please do; if not, no problem - keep using it!

CyTV is a streaming solution for elgatos EyeTV family of TV tuners. It allows you to watch TV and recorded programs over a local network (wired or wireless) or the internet, and it supports EyeTV USB, 200, 300, and 400. You can pause and resume live TV on the client ("timeshift"), and you can also change channels remotely.
Enhancements:
- Fixed a problem that prevented the client from connecting via Rendezvous/Bonjour on Intel Macs.
