Disk Cat-Search 2.0
Disk Cat-Search - Catalog and search disks more>>
This script was formerly named "Disk Catalog/Search" and was renamed to be OS X friendly.
The package includes classic (Mac OS 8-9) and OS X versions.
To make a catalog just drop the disk onto the program. A catalog of every file in the disk will be saved in the Catalogs folder. This catalog is just a plain old text file that you can look through with any program you want.
To search the catalogs just double click the script. You will get a list of the catalogs available for searching. You can select multiple catalogs from the list using the shift and/or command keys in the conventional way.
Enhancements:
- This version has been highly optimized and runs approximately 4 times faster than the previous version.

LANrev InstallEase 1.2.3
LANrev InstallEase is considered as an interesting utility that lets you create installer packages with minimal effort by walking you through the entire process. more>>
LANrev InstallEase 1.2.3 is considered as an interesting utility that lets you create installer packages with minimal effort by walking you through the entire process. Its intuitive easy-to-use interface takes the confusion out of building custom software packages enabling you to spend your time on more critical management tasks. The best part of InstallEase is that it's free!
After InstallEase completes its task, use LANrev Client Management Suite to deploy the custom PKG or DMG software package you just created. InstallEase lets you control which files to install while LANrev's many software installation options and conditions let you fine-tune precisely when the package should install.
Major Features:
- Automated "Before" and "After" Snapshots: InstallEase's automatic snapshot feature takes the guess work out of creating custom packages. Simply take a "before" and "after" snapshot of your system when installing your software and InstallEase will generate a list of file changes that are part of your installation. InstallEase even lets you pick which folders or drives to monitor for changes. On Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard the "after" snapshot is nearly instantaneous.
- Build Packages Manually: While snapshots are great for more complicated software packages, sometimes it's just faster to build a package manually, particularly for drag and drop applications. InstallEase allows you to skip the snapshotting process altogether and drag and drop files/folders directly from the Finder into the InstallEase window.
- Install Files to the Current User's Home Folder: When used in conjunction with LANrev's "Install when a user is logged in" installation option, InstallEase packages can install files to the current user's home folder. Items from the user's home folder will be listed under the path "Installation Root/Users/" in the snapshot.
- Exclusion Filters: An exhaustive list of preset filters is included to exclude extraneous file system changes that occur as a normal part of Mac OS X. These can be edited to suit your needs or you can add your own to screen out other file system changes you want to exclude.
- Intuitive Graphical User Interface for Editing Changes: InstallEase's "Snapshot Data" screen provides a straightforward intuitive user interface for validating snapshot changes and editing user/group ownerships and permissions for snapshot changes. You have free reign to rearrange and remove items as desired with drag and drop. You can even add entries to the snapshot by seamlessly dragging and dropping directly from the Finder into the InstallEase window.
- Uninstaller PKGs: For easier rollbacks of software installations, InstallEase can build an uninstaller PKG from an existing PKG. This ensures that only new files that were added are removed so you can be assured that no system critical files are accidentally deleted during the rollback. Uninstaller PKGs can also be based on snapshot data or manually specified filesystem entries.
- Output to PKG, Iceberg Project, or DMG formats: Different installer formats have different advantages so InstallEase lets you choose the one that works best for you. DMGs are more convenient for simple drag and drop applications and can be modified later by converting the disk image to read/write format. PKGs are the easiest to roll back by creating an uninstaller PKG from the original installer PKG. Iceberg projects allow you to add pre and postflight scripts to the installer. If you can't decide which one fits your needs output the package in all these formats at the same time.
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or higher

Hack to the Past II 2.0
Hack to the Past II is a multi-purpose, highly customizable system utility. more>>
Hack to the Past II 2.0 is a multi-purpose, highly customizable system utility. This little script applet will bring back the shortcut key combo, Command + N, for creating a New Folder before Apple (Hello, McFly, anybody in there?), in their infinite wisdom, switched it to Command + Shift + N. So instead of continuing to use that cumbersome command to create a new folder, you can now 'Hack to the Past' and return to using Command + N like it was before the cats (all OS X versions) came on the scene. It will also swap the New Finder Window with Command + Shift + N as it should be, IMHO.
You can also revert back if you've become used to the "cat's" way and you're getting totally confused and are simply used to these post-OS 9 commands. Plus, the actual menu items (in the Finder) are updated as well, and Command + N will work even in dialog boxes, so everything is seemless to you, the end user. Will not 'stop working' between software updates, but you will likely have to run the script again if you reinstall system software or update to a completely new 10.x version.
Mr. Cats Quest 3.3.1
Mr. Cats Quest - Save Mrs. Cat more>>
Mr. Cat comes home from work one afternoon to find a ransom note pinned to his door. The note says:
If you ever want to see your wife again, you must go to the lost caves Madison [Mad] Cat.
The note appears to be true because Mr. Cat cannot find his wife anywhere around the house, so he has no choice but to trek off to the Lost Caves.
Can you help Mr. Cat on his journey through the Lost Caves?
Mr. Cats Quest is a great game for people of all ages, especially younger children. This non-violent, puzzle game allows the player to guide Mr. Cat through 42 subterranean levels.
Each level or cave presents Mr. Cat and the player with new obstacles to their progress. These obstacles may take the form of ghosts, falling rocks, or even malicious plungers. Mr. Cat must overcome these obstacles to get to the door at the end of each level if he is to have any hope of rescuing his wife.

Lemmings 1.4.2a
Lemmings - Your goal, of course, is to lead as many lemmings as possible to the exit more>>
Left to their own device, they will, as mentioned, fall off a cliff, be smashed under a press, dissolved in an acid pool, or fall prey to even more sadistic contraptions. Or they just might find themselves in a pit, wandering aimlessly, endlessly, to and fro.
To prevent these dire fates, you can assign roles to individual lemmings. Blockers just stand there and function as obstacles. Diggers can dig downwards through soft, miners through hard surfaces. Bashers do the same horizontally. There are about a dozen such functions.
Your goal, of course, is to lead as many lemmings as possible (you have to reach a quota) through the exit in the assigned time and move on to the next level. You will be given a codeword so you can continue playing where you left off, there are no savegames. (That goes for the DOS and Amiga versions, in the Windows version there are, and most certainly in the Mac version too). You can choose four difficulty levels (fun, tricky, taxing, mayhem) which are actually four different games.
The graphics of Lemmings are a gem of classical game art. The lemmings are only a dozen or so pixels tall, yet their green hair flies, and the blockers foot taps. Backgrounds are eerily beautiful, they show what can be done with 32 colors. The music adds some irony to the game.
Lemmings are maybe the greatest gift the Amiga ever gave to the gaming world in general. The game was ported to most platforms of the time, and sequels continue to be created. Psygnosis, the original publisher, was bought up in 1993 by Sony, who thus now hold the rights for Lemmings.
NOTE: Project has been discontinued.

WebSearches for Big Cat 1.1 offers you a professional and highly-efficient script for the Big Cat context menu plugin (Big Cat is on VT already). It adds additional web searches for highlighted text, but more importantly, it allows you to easily add your own web lookups, just by finding out the search URL. If you want to add a search to WebSearches, first run a sample search in your web browser. If the URL contains your search terms, copy the URL. Then choose ADD SEARCH in WebSearches' list, put in a name, and then put in the URL (making sure to REPLACE your search terms with ###SEARCHTERMS###). You've just added that web search.
Cat Search 2.2.1
Cat Search - Search for certain files on a Mac OS volume more>>
This plugin also shows how you can allow your RB app to access complex data structures inside the plugin without having to create a REALbasic Control or Class, something that is not yet possible for Windows plugins (the trick is that you create a temporary structure inside the plugin and then provide accessor functions to get and set the individual elements of that structure).
