Portable VLC OS X is the VLC video stream and multimedia palyer packaged as portable application so you can carry around with you on any portable device, USB thumb drive, iPod, portable hard drive,memory card, other portable device (also on your internal hard disk) as long as it has 37 MB of free space and use on any Mac OS X computer, taking your preferences with you.
How to install
1. Drag "Portable VLC OS X" folder to your portable device, USB thumb drive, iPod, portable hard drive, memory card, other portable device (also to your internal hard disk) as long as it has 37 MB of free space.
2. Clicking "Portable VLC" will open VLC from your portable device, wait a while before VLC start.
3. If a local copy of VLC is running an alert window allow you to quit it.
Using your data
You can copy your user preferences to Portable VLC when "Copy preferences" window ask you. So, if you wish to use your bookmarks, history, preferences you already have on your system, just click "Yes" when prompt.
VLC application, preference file and folder are inside the bundle:

VLC Remote Interface Widget utilizes VLCs HTTP interface in order to control remote instances of VLC (running on any platform).
To use this widget, enable the HTTP interface on the target VLC instance and enter the IP address of the computer into the widget.
The following functions are available:

EyeTV2Alias is little Applescript to create symbolic links to your EyeTV Recordings. You could use this links to open the movies in another player for example VLC or you could use them to share the movies over the network to another mac, Windows PC, XboxMediaCenter or other MediaPlayer. (For sharing you have to set "follow symbolic links" for the pertinent sharing protocol: FTP, SMB, AFP). The Links will be created in your Movie Folder or in the folder you chosse.
Be aware if you edit the movies in another editor then EyeTV then EyeTV perhaps have problems to play, export or edit the files any longer.
You could just start it by clicking or by adding it to your Applescript Menu.

eyetv FTW (From The Web) is a PHP script that shows the list of all recorded programs in a webbrowser on every computer in the house (Mac and PC) and makes it possible to download or see the MPEGs right form your server.

NicePlayer aims to be a QuickTime player designed for playing movies nicely for a person who likes to watch or present movies on their computer (such as the casual viewer or the video artist).
This program features full screen or border-less floating windows, and convenient controls for scrubbing or queuing movies.
Right now NicePlayer is in early development, and while its not refined, it is quite functional, and should suit the needs of many.
Designed from the ground up from people who like to watch movies, NicePlayer does all of the things that you would expect from a media player, and all of the things you didnt know you needed.
Main features:
- Easy to Use Interface. With an interface that only appears when you need it, NicePlayer makes it more convenient and easier to play all of your media. Double click on the window to change to full screen. Right click to pause. Use the scroll wheel to change the window size.
- The Size You Want. Because NicePlayer allows you to use the scroll wheel to adjust playback of your movie to arbitrary sizes, you can easily do your work while watching a movie. You can even adjust the size of the window when playing DVDs -- so when you come across one of those widescreen DVDs encoded in full frame, you can zoom in so that you dont get black bars on all four sides of the movie when watching on your Powerbook or Cinema Display (using NicePlayers "Fit Width" command also simplfies this more in most cases).
- Playlists. Queue up multiple media files and have them play sequentially, automatically.
- Plugins. QuickTime doesnt support playing the files you want to watch? NicePlayer has an open plugin architecture to support other media playback engines as well. That means that anyone can create a plugin to embed another media playback engine so NicePlayer can go be extended past QuickTime (i.e. DVD Playback, VLC).
