iAdjust Audio 1.1
iAdjust Audio is a really convenient tool which allows you to adjust the main volume in smaller increments more>>
iAdjust Audio 1.1 is a really convenient tool which allows you to adjust the main volume in smaller increments than the standard 16 moves via the keyboard. Because of variations in operating systems, these scripts will give you between 44 and 48 increments.
Leopard and Snow Leopard users can hold down the Option and Shift keys while pressing either volume key to get very small increments (64). I find this awkward as it requires both hands. Of course, if you're satisfied with using the keyboard or moving a slider, there is no reason for you to download these two scripts.
Enhancements: Minor bug fix.
Requirements:
- PPC/Intel
- Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later
License:Freeware

Particula Numerica 0.1
Particula Numerica in shortly Particula is an Gravitational N-Body Simulator more>>
Particula can simulate the gravitational interaction of many bodies with certain initial conditions. You may set a simple homo-temperature spherical distribution model as an initial condition. The temperature and the number of the particles are able to be set. You can also use NEMO ASCII files as an initial data.
Particula provide you both two and three dimensional view. It shows you the overall 3D view of the particles. In 2D view you can see a trajectory of a certain particle and the temporal variation of potential energies (Kinetic/red and Potential/blue).
To update the 2D view you should click mouse with Ctrl key or the right mouse button. To change the line of sight in 3D view, just drag to rotate and shift-drag to zoom in/out.
Plasma Pong 1.3c
Plasma Pong is a variation of PONG that utilizes real-time fluid dynamics to drive the game environment more>>

All these abilities have fluid-based kinetic effects on the ball, making Plasma Pong a fast-paced and exciting game.
HOW TO PLAY:
- To score, you must get the ball past the opposing players paddle
- Scoring will increase the level, causing the ball to be more reactive to the fluid
- To move the ball, you need to manipulate the fluid.

Libpaxos R23
Open source and general purpose Paxos library more>> Open source and general purpose Paxos library
The objective of Libpaxos is to create an opens ource implementation of the paxos algorithm that can be easily used from any application.
At the moment the project consists of:
- A C library (libpaxos) that can be linked from any C/C++ application. The Library provides a minimal interface consisting of two calls: one to propose a new values to be distributed, the other one to learn values chosen so far. This implementation delivers messages via UDP multicast.
- An Erlang "simulator" (ErlangPaxos) that will allow you to experiment with a number of small protocol variations and parameters
Enhancements
- Fixed few serious bugs, added a more strict consistency test.
- Added Proposer_init with callback for delivered values
The Levelator 1.1.0
The Levelator adjusts the audio levels within your podcast or other audio file more>>
Its not a compressor, normalizer or limiter although it contains all three. Its much more than those tools, and its much simpler to use.
The UI is dirt-simple: Drag-and-drop any WAV or AIFF file onto The Levelers application window, and a few moments later youll find a new version which just sounds better.
Have you ever recorded an interview in which you and your guest ended up at different volumes? How about a panel discussion where some people were close to microphones and others were not?
These are the problems the post-production engineers of Team ITC solve every day, and it used to sometimes take them hours of painstaking work with expensive and complex tools like SoundTrack Pro, Audacity, Sound Forge or Audition to solve them. Now it takes mere seconds. Seriously. The Levelator is unlike any other audio tool youve ever seen, heard or used. Its magic. And its free.
When we developed the IT Conversations component-based show-assembly system (the first generation of GigaVox Audio Lite, see below), we realized all the components had to be of the same loudness or the results would sound awful. We limped along for many months using the RMS normalization functions in various applications, but the results werent satisfactory and it required tools and skillsets that some of our post-production audio engineers didnt have.
One of our best engineers, Bruce Sharpe, offered to write a standalone software RMS normalization utility, which weve been using as part of our production system GVUploader for nearly a year.
The GVUploaders normalizer acts similar to an intelligent RMS-based compressor/limiter combination, and it therefore affects primarily the short-term (transient) sounds and the long-term overall loudness of the file. It doesnt make the kind of adjustments that a skilled audio engineer can perform in software or at a mixing console, riding the levels up and down to compensate for medium-term variations.
There are some hardware devices such as various AGC (automatic-gain control) components that can do moderate leveling, but since they have to operate in real time (i.e., without look-ahead), they cant do much. And they arent cheap, let alone free.
Even a skilled human can only react to changes unless s/he is lucky enough to be present during a recording session and can use visual cues to anticipate coming variations. Software can do better by performing multiple passes over the audio, generating a loudness map of where the volume changes. (Its not actually that simple, but the metaphor can help.)
