HTMLValidator 1.0
HTMLValidator - Validate web pages on your Mac more>>
Because HTMLValidator uses the same validation technique as the official validator you can be assured the the pages you create work correctly.
HTMLValidator works without access to the web. This means that you dont need an active internet connection to validate pages and nothing is sent over the internet during validation. Your pages remain secure and you dont need to open your firewall to validate your intranet.
HTMLValidator also has some Applescript support, so you can script the validation and see the errors.
This is only the first release of HTMLValidator, so please send in any ideas or suggestions (or bug reports if necessary)

Safari Web Site Validator 1.4
Safari Web Site Validator is a free tool allowing you to open a new window in Safari and send the HTML or XHTML code of the web page youre viewing to W3C Markup Validation Service. more>>
Safari Web Site Validator 1.4 is a free tool allowing you to open a new window in Safari and send the HTML or XHTML code of the web page you're viewing to W3C Markup Validation Service. It then opens a second window to validate the CSS code. W3C will display any errors it can detect in the HTML/XHTML and CSS code. I included two scripts in the folder. The script named 'Safari Web Site Validator Go' does the same thing as 'Safari Web Site Validator' except there isn't a dialog box when you launch it. This might prove convenient (and faster) for those of you who have many pages that you want to validate.

Why use separate validation tools to check your Web pages when you only need one. Results are presented in an easy to read format to allow you to fix problems quickly. So choose this tool for (X) HTML validation against the W3C/ISO DTDs, accessibility validation against W3C WAI and US Section 508, spell checking, and testing for broken links.

Why use separate validation tools to check your web pages when you only need one?
The Total Validator Tool performs the most important validations on your web pages: True (X)HTML validation against published W3C/ISO DTDs; accessibility validation against the W3C and US Section 508 guidelines; spell checking against one of five languages; and testing for broken links.
Why these 4 validations ...
Search engine robots/spiders are very fussy and will not search or index some or all of a site if they come across invalid HTML. So if you want to be properly listed you need to be sure your HTML is valid.
Just because you can use your website doesnt mean that someone with a disability can. You should ensure your sites conform to the W3C WAI Accessibility Guidelines, (and that also means strictly W3C validated HTML), or US Section 508 standard, if you want your site to be accessible to all.
Spelling is often left unchecked and will make your site look and feel unprofessional and even unusable.
Broken links are the bane of every webmaster, you may get your internal links correct, but external sites tend to change all the time, and theres nothing that makes your site look worse than a link to nowhere. So you need to regularly check your site for broken links.
If you need more than the this tool provides then keep a look out for the full version that allows you to test more than a page at a time, has more options for each validation and can be optionally run from the command line.
Requirements: Java 1.5.0 or later
<<lessCocoatron 1.0
A suite of Automator Actions that brings drag-and-drop simplicity to creating and automating complex XML Processing Pipelines more>> A suite of Automator Actions that brings drag-and-drop simplicity to creating and automating complex XML Processing Pipelines
Inspired by XProc and SXPipe, Cocoatron is a simple way to create XML pipelines visually -- without writing a line of custom glue code in Java, C++ or other languages.
Conceptually, Cocoatron is a combination of XProc and Apples Automator application. XProc is the W3Cs spec for high-level descriptions of XML processing pipelines. Automator is Apples graphical application for creating scripting pipelines with drag-and-drop simplicity.
Implemented using the powerful libxml2 framework, Cocoatron includes support for XInclude, EXSLT, XSLT 1.0, XQuery, and validation against W3C XML Schema, DTD, and RELAX NG XML syntax.
Cocoatron is written in Objective-C and C, and is based on:
- libxml
- libxslt
- libexslt
- Apples Cocoa Frameworks
- Apples NSXML Framework
Installation: To install, download Cocoatron and unzip. Then drag the Cocoatron .action and .definition files to ~/Library/Automator. You may need to create this folder.

<<lessApimac PAD Editor 1.0.2
Apimac PAD Editor is a PAD (portable application description) file editor more>>
Unlike other PAD editors, Apimac PAD Edit is fully XML compliant and fully PAD specifications compliant. The program uses a smart engine to directly obtain information about the PAD files from the PAD specification XML file (padspec.xml), including names, descriptions, field length, allowed characters and format. A window will let you know instantaneously if what you wrote is valid according to the specifications, or not. Theres no need to use external PAD validation services, the program checks for the validity of fields every time you leave one.
Apimac PAD Editor is freeware, anyway, whether you would like to make a donation to the programmer that wrote and mantains this application at Apimac in its coffee time instead to take some break, please donate.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a bug where a "&" character where incorrectly written twice in certain fields and improves the application speed.
Ikaros 1.0
Ikaros is a framework for writing and running component-based simulators more>>
Ikaros is used for simulations of brain areas and learning models, but is general enough to be easily used for any discrete-time simulations. A simulation consists of modules written in C or C++ that are connected in the simulator, with connections specified in an XML file. It runs on the console, and can optionally generate a dynamic browser-based UI with SVG for graphics generation.
The goal of the project is to develop an open infrastructure for system level modeling of the brain including databases of experimental data, computational models and functional brain data.
The system will make heavy use of the emerging standards for Internet based information and will make all information accessible through an open web-based interface. In addition, Ikaros can be used as a control architecture for robots.
The main components of the Ikaros systems are:
- A platform independent simulation kernel
- A set of computational brain models
- A set of I/O modules for interfacing with data files and peripheral such as robots or video cameras
- Tools for building systems of interconnected models
- A plug-in architecture that allows new models to be easily added to the system
- A database with data from learning experiments that can be used for validation of the computational models.
Enhancements:
- The new version includes a web based user interface where running Ikaros processes can be controlled and monitored from a web browser.
- The interface uses SVG for visualization and works with FireFox 1.5 as well as with Adobes SVG plug-in and Squiggle with Batik 1.6.
- It is possible to connect to Ikaros on the local computer or on a remote computer.
Safari Tidy Plugin 0.2.7
Validate webpages you browse for (X)HTML compliance. more>> Validate webpages you browse for (X)HTML compliance.
The Safari Tidy plugin is a small plugin that lets you validate the webpages you browse for (X)HTML compliance. The actual validation is done by Tidy.
How it works... In the bottom right corner of each browser window you will see the amount of warnings and errors the current page has, along with a small icon. Clicking on the icon will show the source of the current page.
The default view-source window of Safari is extended so that it shows all the errors and warnings in a list. The lines containing errors are highlighted so they may be located easily. Doubleclicking on a warning or error in the list will position the cursor at the correct location in the HTML source text.
