UniMotion 0.3
UniMotion - Unified Motion detection for Apple portables more>>
UniMotion is based on Motion with support for additional hardware coming from here. On top of all this, Ive created a basic API and implemented probing so that you dont have to know what machine youre on.
While Motion has a BSD license, UniMotion is released under the LGPL. The original author and all contributors have given permission for this license change.
The intent is to ensure that fixes and improvements arent hoarded by closed-source projects and to ensure that closed-source programs utilising UniMotion are able to support the newest hardware models, even without support from the vendor.
There is software out there that is SMS-aware but doesnt support my MacBook Pro. If everyone uses UniMotion, that will never happen again.
UniMotion allows you to read the output from the Apple Motion Sensor (aka. Sudden Motion Sensor, AMS, SMS) that has now become standard hardware in all portable computers from Apple.
Enhancements:
- raw, calibrated and real(float) numbers are available
- calibrated numbers are adjusted by an offset
- real numbers are divided by a scale
- very basic calibrate app exists to create UniMotion.plist

If you wish to make a compilation that you plan to charge for you must obtain my written permission (see email below).
I hope you find this little program useful. I plan to start making other theatre software for OS X, as I am a lighting tech it will be mostly lighting software. If you have any ideas for other theatre software feel free to email me your ides and Ill see what I can do.
Enhancements:
- I have fixed a potential bug that could have caused incorrect reading of a DMX address form the switches.
- I have added the ability to add the switch settings to a list that can be printed out for reference. It should be noted that you need to click in the address list before printing as it will just print whatever is in the DMX address field otherwise. The address list is fully editable so you can label what each address is for prior to printing.

MacOS Classic Sound Pack 1.4 is a feature-rich and trustworthy File Conversion which is designed specially for MacOS Classic Sounds (will work for most sounds, but not all)
- Download SoundApp PPC
- Open SoundApp in Classic mode and choose CONVERT from the menu
- Convert the file to AIF
- Quit SoundApp PPC
- Rename the file to end .aiff
- Install as instructed below
NOTE: moof.au is provided for you to practice with
MacOSX Installation
To install for a single user, place these sounds in the following folder: /Users/[username]/Library/Sounds/
To install globally, place these sounds in the following folder: /System/Library/Sounds/ [requires root permission]
Create the following folder: /Library/Sounds/
Once they are in that folder, they will show up as System Sound choices in the Sound Control Panel. Included Sounds:
- bip
- boing
- chutoy
- clinkklank
- droplet
- indigo
- laugh
- logjam
- monkey
- moof
- newbip**
- pong2003
- quack
- single clip
- sosumi
- temple
- uh oh
- voltage
- whit
- wild eep
Bip is not actually a sound file. It calls to hardware to make a noise using a simple sound command. So far, OSX refuses to use it as a System Sound, but it will work as an alert in other Apps (i.e. Mail).
NewBip is a recording of Bip using wiretap. the original Bip is still included to be true to the original intention of the Classic Sound Pack (after all, it is possible that hardware beeps on different machines may sound different).
