Triple M - A dashboard widget featuring 105.1 Melbourne radio. more>> I am not sure if there is any real need for WhatRoute now that we a vast range of UNIX tools at our disposal. However, I still receive requests for updates and modifications to the software, so I have resurrected the source and fixed many problems that have been brought to my attention in the last 4 years.
I dont expect that I will move the entire application to Universal Binary. To do so requires a major re-write and this would not seem to be justified, given that the initial reason I wrote the software was to solve networking problems on a platform that had no tools at all. Times have changed.
Thank-you to all of you have contacted me over the years since I first released the initial version (back on MacOS 7.5 from memory). Its a testament to Apple and Metrowerks that the software has survived largely intact since I first released it 1996, has run on 3 vastly different instruction sets (68K, PPC, Intel) and survived the major transitions in the OS that have struck over the years.<<less

Blue Cat’s Triple EQ 3.2
A 3 bands semi-parametric equalizer that can be controlled as a single filter with customizable shape. more>>
A 3 bands semi-parametric equalizer that can be controlled as a single filter with customizable shape. It includes a low shelf filter, a high shelf filter and a boost/cut peak filter. Its wide range of gain (+/-40 dB per band) and bandwidth (.01 to 5 Octave) makes it very versatile to create any filter shape. The three filters are linked together so that when you change the center frequency or the bandwidth, the parameters of the three filters are modified accordingly: you can control the entire equalizer characteristics with a single mouse click.
The graph shows the computed frequency response of the plug-in, so that you can exactly know how your signal is processed. The controls are now directly available on the filter graph, making the design of the filter shape even easier.
The Smooth Update mechanism has been included in this plug-in so that you can control the EQ in real time with automation curve or MIDI: you will get an absolutely zipper-free clean and continuous time-varying equalization with absolutely no latency. It makes this plugin the ideal companion of our audio analysis tools for signal-dependant side chain filtering.

Asymptote 1.44
Descriptive vector graphics language that provides a natural coordinate-based framework for technical drawing more>> Descriptive vector graphics language that provides a natural coordinate-based framework for technical drawing
Asymptote is a powerful descriptive vector graphics language that provides a natural coordinate-based framework for technical drawing. Labels and equations are typeset with LaTeX, for high-quality PostScript output.
A major advantage of Asymptote over other graphics packages is that it is a programming language, nor just a graphics program.
Main features:>
- provides a portable standard for typesetting mathematical figures, just as TeX/LaTeX has become the standard for typesetting equations.
- inspired by MetaPost, with a much cleaner, powerful C++-like programming syntax and floating-point numerics;
- runs on all major platforms (UNIX, MacOS, Microsoft Windows);
- mathematically oriented (e.g. rotation of vectors by complex multiplication);
- LaTeX typesetting of labels (for document consistency);
- uses simplex method and deferred drawing to solve overall size constraint issues between fixed-sized objects (labels and arrowheads) and objects that should scale with figure size;
- fully generalizes MetaPost path construction algorithms to three dimensions;
- compiles commands into virtual machine code for speed without sacrificing portability;
- high-level graphics commands are implemented in the Asymptote language itself, allowing them to be easily tailored to specific applications.
Enhancements:
- Full interactive 3D support has been added to Asymptote, with the option ofgenerating and embedding 3D PRC data in PDF files or rendering scenesdirectly with Asymptotes own fast OpenGL-based renderer. The implicitcasts from 3D to 2D objects were removed (in favour of call explicit callsto project). A path[][] texpath(string s) routine was added to convertstring into the paths that TeX would fill. Add boolean stroke parameter wasadded for shading (and clipping to) stroked paths. The Circle and Arcroutines were fixed. Autoscaling of graph axes limits is now disabled bydefault. A path3 path3(path p, triple plane(pair)=XYplane) constructor wasadded; the path3 routines were moved to C++ code. Optimized and robustversions of the intersection, windingnumber, inside, and surface extremaroutines were implemented. The lighting routines were replaced by theOpenGL model. Each Asymptote process once again uses a separatecurrentpen. A segmentation fault and an incorrect parameter in theDelaunay triangulation routine were fixed. This major overhaul of thethree-dimensional graphics has necessitated a few backwardsincompatibilities.

jPREdictor 1.2.3
A free and versatile tool for the prediction of cis-regulatory elements jPREdictor is used for defining motifs, searching them on sequences, weighting motifs using training sets and scoring sequences more>> A free and versatile tool for the prediction of cis-regulatory elements
jPREdictor is used for defining motifs, searching them on sequences, weighting motifs using training sets and scoring sequences using the weighted motifs.
Short sequence fragments, namely transcription factor binding sites, are known to be enriched and clustered in such elements. These binding sites are represented as motifs and for the prediction, they must be known.
Using these motifs, it is possible to weight them by applying a positive or negative training set (model or background, respectively), to search them on sequences, and to score a sequence.
Gene regulation is the process through which an organism effects spatial and temporal differences in gene expression levels. Knowledge of cis-regulatory elements as key players in gene regulation is indispensable for the understanding of the latter and of the development of organisms.
The prediction is based on clusters of individual motifs and arbitrary combinations of these into multi-motifs with selectable minimal and maximal distances. Individual motifs can be of heterogenous classes, such as simple sequence motifs or position-specific scoring matrices.
Cluster scores are weighted occurences of multi-motifs, where the weights are derived from positive and negative training sets.
System requirements:
-
Enhancements
- added the new parameter searchDirection for MultiMotifs defined via option files
- fixed an error with flat triple- and higher-order motifs reporting to few hits; this error occured rarely but regulary and did not occur for DoubleMotifs or non-flat composite-motifs consising of Double- motifs, such as (Pho-DSP1)-(Pho-DSP1)

cloc 1.05
Counts blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages more>> Counts blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages
cloc counts blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages.
It is written entirely in Perl using only modules from the standard distribution of Perl v5.6 and higher (well, sort of) and so is quite portable. cloc is known to run on many flavors of FreeBSD, Mac, Linux, AIX, Solaris, IRIX64, z/OS, and Windows.
Main features:>
- Exists as a single, self-contained file that requires minimal installation effort---just download the file and run it.
- Can read language comment definitions from a file and thus potentially work with computer languages that do not yet exist.
- Allows results from multiple runs to be summed together by language and by project.
- Can count code within compressed archives (tar balls, Zip files, Java .ear files).
- Has numerous troubleshooting options.
- Handles file and directory names with spaces and other unusual characters.
- Has no dependencies outside the standard Perl distribution.
- Runs on Mac OS X, FreeBSD, Linux, NetBSD, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, IRIX64, and z/OS systems that have Perl 5.6 or higher. The source version runs on Windows with either ActiveState Perl or cygwin. Alternatively on Windows one can run the Windows binary which has no dependencies.
System requirements:
-
Enhancements:
- New languages: ActionScript, D. New options: --skip-uniqueness, --original-dir, --match-f, --not-match-f Python triple quoted strings now treated as comments.
- JSP is now also processed with C/C++ filters. Exit (instead of warn and continue) if incorrect options are given.
- Fixed a bug in the duplicate file identifying code. Previous versions counted duplicate files twice.
- Fix output column alignment when working with long file names or languages.

Flickcurl 1.13
Flickcurl is a versatile C library for the Flickr API, handling creating the requests, signing, token management, calling the API, marshalling request parameters and decoding responses. more>>
Flickcurl 1.13 is a versatile C library for the Flickr API, handling creating the requests, signing, token management, calling the API, marshalling request parameters and decoding responses. It uses libcurl to call the REST web service and libxml2 to manipulate the XML responses.
Flickcurl supports all of the API (see Flickcurl API coverage for details) including the functions for photo/video uploading, browsing, searching, adding and editing comments, groups, notes, photosets, categories, activity, blogs, favorites, places, tags, machine tags, institutions, pandas and photo/video metadata. It also includes a program flickrdf to turn photo metadata, tags, machine tags and places into an RDF triples description.
Enhancements:
- Added function flickcurl_source_uri_as_photo_id() to get photo IDs from full raw 'farm' image URLs.
- Added command getphotoid to the command-line utility to allow this to be called.
- Added function flickcurl_get_current_request_wait() so applications can know when flickcurl will delay - sleep(2) - in order to let the web service rate limiting work. This allows the application to avoid this and try again later if it desires, rather than have Flickcurl freeze the entire application (if single threaded).
- Use a dynamic buffer size for request URI construction to avoid crashing when dealing with requests with e.g. long lists of of photo IDs that exceeded the "big enough" buffer for a URI.
- After the above problem, reviewed the other fixed buffer sizes in the code and they are all for known fixed uses such as formatting a decimal number (of known size) into a string. None of the remaining ones can be influenced by data passed by API calls.
Requirements:
- libcurl 7.10.0 or newer
- libxml2 2.6.8 or newer
- raptor 1.4.0 (optional), 1.4.14 recommended
