The Owl Tree 1.0 is developed to be a fun package of desktop wallpapers which are hand-painted, children-safe (now interactive!). Based on Flash technology, these wallpapers offer the user a completely new experience. In fact, they can be used as small games, especially by younger users. Part of the Ghost Forest site, presenting the book with the same name.

Copy folder tree 1.0
Copy folder tree - Duplicate a folder structure more>>
It will optionally copy or move files of certain types that it finds in the process.
I wrote this for a specifc purpose*, but hopefully the ideas can be used to suit similar needs. I was helped along by scripts posted here by Dan Decker and Robert Metzker, so I thought Id share the results.
*My particular need was to duplicate the folder structure of my iTunes Music Library into a spot where it would get backed up, but not copy the music files themselves. What I wanted to back up were the image files I had found/created, and in the process remove them from the library, since they didnt seem to "belong" there.
Tree.app 1.0
Tree.app - Blinking Christmas tree for your desktop more>>
Its the perfect way to remind yourself that the winter holidays are comming.

K-tree 0.1.1
K-tree offers you a great combination of B+-tree and k-means algorithm more>> K-tree 0.1.1 offers you a great combination of B+-tree and k-means algorithm. K-tree provides a scalable approach to clustering by combining the B+-tree and k-means algorithms. Clustering can be used for solving problems in signal processing, machine learning and other contexts.
K-tree uses a similar tree structure to the B+-tree and uses k-means to perform splits. The tree forms a nearest neighbour search tree. Unlike k-means the number of clusters does not need to be specified upfront. However, a tree order must be specified that restricts how many vectors can be stored in any node. Each level of the tree produces a different number of clusters.
Enhancements: Fix bug ID: 2566390 "crash on high dimensional data".
Tree Size 2.0
Tree Size - Look which folder growed too much more>>
So this application was created and it does just this job. You select a folder, wait some minutes and you can browse it to look how big all the folders are.
This application is freeware and provided as is.
Enhancements:
- A lot of faster by using the plugins directory size class instead of RBs functions.
Reversi 1.0.1

Jreepad 1.6
Free and open source personal info manager & freeform database more>> Free and open source personal info manager & freeform database
Jreepad allows you to store and edit all your little nuggets of text in an incredibly intuitive tree structure. Each "node" on the tree has a plain-text "article" associated with it, meaning that a Jreepad file becomes almost a freeform database, storing all kinds of information.
Write to-do lists, plan the structure of your book, keep a library of code snippets... people use it for all sorts. Jreepad runs from a thumbdrive on both Macs and PCs - its highly portable and useful.
System requirements:

Enhancements
- Some new things since 1.5: option for file encryption; font size of tree/article can be altered; context-menu added; SAX XML parser used for XML goodness. Thanks to all who contributed towards this release.
Tuwo 1.0
Free C++ library for tasks frequently encountered in high-level computer vision systems for object recognition and image classification more>> Free C++ library for tasks frequently encountered in high-level computer vision systems for object recognition and image classification
Computer vision is a subfield of computer science and deals with systems that can make sense of image information.
Building systems suited for high-level computer vision tasks such as object recognition and image classification requires the use of robust image statistics in the form of image features and machine learning algorithms to separate discriminative information from noise.
Tuwo is a C++ library that provides code to extract image features and learn decision functions from training data. Tuwo is suitable for high-level computer vision tasks.
The library should be used freely; in particular, extracting code as you deem necessary is encouraged. Tuwo is not intended to be a single monolithic library. To encourage free use, the library is licensed under the very liberal open-source MIT License.
Main features:
Machine Learning:
- k-means clustering
- nn/soft vector quantization and histograms
- mean shift clustering
- randomized decision tree ensembles
- structured support vector machine training, parallel
- conditional random field, MAP-MRF inference
Image Features:
- adaptive color histograms (CIE LAB, HSV, RGB)
- canny edge detection
- histogram of oriented gradients (HoG)
- local binary patterns (LBP)
- local self-similarity (LSS)
- oriented gradient histograms
- semantic texton forests
- region covariance
- textons
High-level Image Processing:
- mean shift segmentation
- tree-based segmentation (FH)
- normalized cut image segmentation
- image laplacians: matting laplacian, intervening contours, gradient
Input/Output:
- PASCAL VOC challenge XML metafile reader/writer

Mesquite 1.0
Mesquite is software for evolutionary biology, designed to help biologists analyze comparative data about organisms more>> Mesquite is software for evolutionary biology, designed to help biologists analyze comparative data about organisms. Its emphasis is on phylogenetic analysis, but some of its modules concern population genetics, while others do non-phylogenetic multivariate analysis. Because it is modular, the analyses available depend on the modules installed.
Analyses include:
- Reconstruction of ancestral states (parsimony, likelihood)
- Tests of process of character evolution, including correlation
- Simulation of character evolution (categorical, DNA, continuous)
- Parametric bootstrapping (integration with programs such as PAUP* and NONA)
- Morphometrics (PCA, CVA, geometric morphometrics)
- Coalescence (simulations, other calculations)
- Tree comparisons and simulations (tree similarity, Markov speciation models)
Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
OT2 1.0.1
OT2 - Bonsai collection management software more>>
It keeps a list of your trees with their characteristics. For each tree, you can apply "events" (work done or to do, diseases, remarks and so on) which will be remembered or add pictures.
Pictures can be resized and moved to a repository while the original may be saved in another place if you wish. At any time, you can get the history of a tree which presents in one page all the characteristics of the tree and list in chronological order all the pictures or events applied to it.
Trees can be managed in batch, with progressive individualization. Very handy if you grow a lot of seedlings.
It can keep a list of your pots if you wish. Free pots can be choosen when rempotting a tree, can have pictures and the history of each pot can be obtained.
All your tree data can be saved to a set of HTML pages which is both a convenience for those who maintain a web site with their trees and an insurance against loss of data, in case this software would not be maintained anymore.
The data is keeped in a standard language called SQL. It may be saved either in a file thanks to SQlite or inside a mySql server, local or distant. Again, the use of industry standards is a warranty against loss of data, which is very important in the case of a bonsai collection which is a long term project.
Main features:
- Unlimited number of trees and pots with their detailed characteristics.
- Sort trees according to their name, age, species..., show all of them or only a subset (mature bonsai, potensai, kusamono...)
- For each tree, you can record or schedule any work, remark, treatement, etc..
- Add as many pictures as you want. Pictures can be resized and moved to a repository while the original may be saved in another place.
- See the complete history of a tree, pictures and events displayed together or separated.
- For rempotting events, choose the pot to put the tree in.
- Full fledged installer/desinstaller
- Easy to use interface, tabbed navigation.
- Integration with you favorite image editor : no more lengthy search on your hard drive to find a picture for a virtual.
- Export your tree data to a set of HTML pages.
- Batch management of trees with progressive individualization. Very handy for seedlings!
- Data stored in file or in a mySql server, local or distant (GNU/Linux only feature)
- Use the industry standard SQL language to store the data : your data is safely keeped and still belongs to you !
