iTunes Tracker is a client application which allows users to connect to a database of shared iTunes 4 libraries.

The database is based on how many people are connected and have iTunes 4 sharing enabled. This list is displayed on your computer allowing you to access any of the shared iTunes library on the list. A simple user interface allows easy navigation and reduces the amount of window clutter.

iTunes Tracker detects if youre sharing your iTunes library. If your library is shared then your address is added to the list of shared iTunes libraries. This list is downloaded when a client connects to the central server. The more shared libraries the longer the list. With more users comes more selections and so on.

Rixstep announce a new standalone product for OS X that lets users track file system activities, finding not just what files have been modified but also what files have been accessed, and even where untrusted software tries to cover its tracks. There are a few other products available that attempt heuristically to determine where data remnants are left in your system by installed software, and others that use event notification systems available with some releases of OS X, but Trackers the only utility that gets at everything, regardless of your OS version.

Apple have in the past, in the wake of security bulletins and news of exploits against their platform, advised users to never run unknown and untrusted software. Which is an impossibility. Until you try a new program, theres no way you can know if you can trust it. And without Tracker, youre never going to know that anyway.
