The 4-World Planet 1.0.1
The 4-World Planet is a text-adventure game more>>
The storyline: You are an astronaut. You go on a solo mission to a planet that was recently discovered. But the planets gravity is stronger than you expected, so you are forced to perform a crash landing, damaging certain parts of your ship. You must explore the planet and find replacement parts, helping people and finding treasures along the way. You will periodically need to deal with things like getting hungry or thirsty. The game will warn you when you need to do something like eat or drink.
Enhancements:
- Added fancier characters (curly quotes, em-dashes, etc.)
- Fixed grammar issues involving plural nouns
- The 4-World Planet is now a Universal Binary.
Starfish 2.0b5
Starfish generates cool desktop patterns more>>
Main features:
- Mac OS X native cocoa application.
- Altivec-enabled and multi-threaded to take full advantage of todays dual (and single) processor G4 PowerMacs. (There is also a version of Starfish X which will run on a G3 Macintosh, although its much slower).
- Support for multiple monitors (you can generate a different pattern for each monitor connected to your computer).
- Support for both TIFF and JPEG image files.
- Option to quit StarfishX when all patterns have been generated. (Perfect for use as a startup item!)
- Keeps track of recently-created patterns so you can go back to that really cool pattern StarfishX created yesterday.
Enhancements:
- StarfishX now comes as two separate downloads. One for G4 and higher machines, and one for G3 machines. It appears that the gcc 3.3 compiler added some G4 instructions to routines which call Altivec code, even if these such routines dont have any Altivec code in them themselves. This sucks, because it causes
- StafishX to crash on any G3-based machine. But Im unwilling to give up the 15% speed improvement this new compiler gives us just for this, so there are now two vesions. The G3 version will warn you if you run it on a machine with Altivec, and the G4+ version will refuse to run on a G3.
- Fixed a crash when dragging to rearrange palettes and/or colors.
- Removed a beep when you edited--but didnt change the name of--a palette.

IPS Patcher 2.0
IPS Patcher - Apply IPS patches to ROM files more>>
ROM and IPS files can be found elsewhere on the web. This application was created mainly because there were no IPS patching utilities available for MacOS X.
Enhancements:
- Gzipped ROM files are now supported transparently. If a ROM file is gzipped, it will be decompressed before patching and recompressed again after patching. If a ROM file is not gzipped, it will be patched and written out uncompressed (thanks to Norman Palardy for this)
- Binary ROM files (.bin files) are now supported
- Revamped the About window
- Added an application icon
- If the ROM file isnt a recognizable ROM (its header cant be parsed), the user is now warned and asked whether to continue or cancel
- Optimized the patching routine - it now works faster
- Dragging a file to the main window now determines if its a patch or a ROM file automatically

RarMe 0.5
RarMe - Create RAR archives more>>
RarMe is a program in the early stages of development and is very rough around the edges. It is fairly functional, but many of the features of rar are still not supported. It does not yet check your input before attempting to create an archive, and errors can be gained with very little practice.
RarMe 0.5 still features very little error checking, though the first steps have been taken. It just trusts that what you give it is right, but will now warn you if you give it something it doesnt expect.
So if you type "roar" into the volume size box, itll run with the switch "-vroar", which obviously wont work. A future version of RarMe will feature full input verification and error checking.
Enhancements:
- Create solid archives, either independent or dependent
- Auto-completes file name and output path when input folder/file is selected
- Option to keep partially extracted files when extraction fails
- Option to keep the original archive date when amending archives
- Compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
cloc 1.05
Counts blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages more>> Counts blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages
cloc counts blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages.
It is written entirely in Perl using only modules from the standard distribution of Perl v5.6 and higher (well, sort of) and so is quite portable. cloc is known to run on many flavors of FreeBSD, Mac, Linux, AIX, Solaris, IRIX64, z/OS, and Windows.
Main features:>
- Exists as a single, self-contained file that requires minimal installation effort---just download the file and run it.
- Can read language comment definitions from a file and thus potentially work with computer languages that do not yet exist.
- Allows results from multiple runs to be summed together by language and by project.
- Can count code within compressed archives (tar balls, Zip files, Java .ear files).
- Has numerous troubleshooting options.
- Handles file and directory names with spaces and other unusual characters.
- Has no dependencies outside the standard Perl distribution.
- Runs on Mac OS X, FreeBSD, Linux, NetBSD, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, IRIX64, and z/OS systems that have Perl 5.6 or higher. The source version runs on Windows with either ActiveState Perl or cygwin. Alternatively on Windows one can run the Windows binary which has no dependencies.
System requirements:
-
Enhancements:
- New languages: ActionScript, D. New options: --skip-uniqueness, --original-dir, --match-f, --not-match-f Python triple quoted strings now treated as comments.
- JSP is now also processed with C/C++ filters. Exit (instead of warn and continue) if incorrect options are given.
- Fixed a bug in the duplicate file identifying code. Previous versions counted duplicate files twice.
- Fix output column alignment when working with long file names or languages.

ButtonMaker is an advanced program which is useful for people without access to commercial image design applications. more>>
ButtonMaker 2.3.1 is an advanced program which is useful for people without access to commercial image design applications. ButtonMaker should offer the functionality anyone is looking for in a basic (an open source) program such as itself.
Featuring over 20 button designs and support for plug-ins, you can easily create the button effects you wish to include on your website. There is a Carbon version available at the Micahsoft website. It currently works in the OSX Public Beta, but compatibility with MacOS X 1.0 is unknown.
The source code for ButtonMaker 2.4 in its current stage is available from here. The code is in a rather messy state (as described in the docs), so don't say you've not been warned.
