Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

Launch! is a Mac OS X application for launching and controlling login to Telstras BigPond Cable network. Launch! has two possible interfaces - a window interface, and a status icon in the menu. Usage statistics are automatically updated to show current unrated usage. Links to useful cable related web pages are provided in a slide out drawer and the status menu.
If you go over your monthly download allowance limit, Launch! can inform you of expected costs that you will incur. Preferences allow you to set your login name and password, along with other options such as usage statistics updates, the type of plan you are on (for calculating costs when going over your monthly allowance), applications to launch on connection etc.
You can also automatically retry connecting should connection fail. The icon for Launch! also shows you when you are connected and a usage statistics meter.
Launch! is donation-ware. This means Launch! is free, but donations are appreciated. The software has no nag screens or limited functionality. I hope some people appreciate the work that has gone in to Launch!. Donations made help me to enhance Launch! and create other Mac OS X applications.

With RootLaunch you can launch applications as the root user.

RootLaunch launches applications as root successfully in most cases. RootLaunch may ask you to choose the base executable for the application in certain situations. Some applications may cause problems for RootLaunch. In particular, Toast 6 causes an error message to be displayed, but if you okay the message dialog, it successfully launches as a root process.

To use RootLauncher, just drag a single application icon to RootLaunchers icon or window, enter your password and press enter or return, then press enter or return again to launch the application as root.

Gimp Launcher can be used to launch Gimp if its installed through X11. Put it in the Dock or launch it with a QuicKeys or Spark shortcut. Save it as an Applescript application bundle and you can even include your own icon.

X-Launch 2.1.1 is a very flexible and effective tool which is designed as a replacement for Apple's Launcher. It is designed to work in much the same way as Launcher and offers similar functionality, while at the same time occupying a smaller footprint and offering some customization features that hopefully make it more aesthetically pleasing. In addition, it features extra conveniences such as allowing the user to reorder buttons and category icons, to navigate folder contents via contextual menu, and to bring the launch window to the front via a hot corner.

AdminLauncher is an application launcher which provides one click buttons to launch applications, documents, etc. A tabbed interface is available to group applications so they can be found quickly.

The main administrative feature of this launcher is that one must have an Mac OS X, administrator password to add or remove buttons and tabs on the launcher.

This is useful in lab, kiosk, or public workstation environments where administrators want to provide a consistant interface for launching applications.
