Major Features:
- When you launch this application it runs in the background till you kill it on the Terminal or you log out. There is a configuration file (plain text) where you can change some settings like the time interval in seconds, the name of the destination folder (which can be an alias) and the quality of the JPEG compressor in percent.
- The files are named e.g. "2003-06-05-21-42-48-0.jpg". Year, month, day, hour, minute, second and ID of the screen. It should work with multiple screens, but it's not tested. This is an example of what you can do using Realbasic and the Monkeybread Software Realbasic Plugin. Source code is included.
- The application will quit when you shut down your Mac or you log out. To quit at any time you may need the force quit dialog.
- This application is freeware and provided as is.
- Updated for Mac OS X 10.5.
- Updated to REALbasic 2007r5 and latest MBS plugins.

There already is a time widget with or without dates in Apple Dashboard, but there is none with the stardate of Star Trek in The Next Generation look.
In order to evoke even more of a "Trekkie-Feeling" within the Dashboard I tried to adapt the design to the TNG computer panels (LCARS).
So watch out, its time for stardate!
The stardate in my TNG Time widget is based on a common used formula. Until the year 2323 the stardate is negative, because it starts (officially) only on January, 1st in 2323. Till then ... "Live long and prosper".

For example, if you wish to encode a long QuickTime movie, you can start it before you go to sleep and have NapTime sleep the computer after a reasonable period of time has elapsed.
When running, Nap Time will attempt to block the automatic idle sleep which is specified in the Energy Saver portion of System Preferences. This feature may not work reliably, however. BushTime Tracks the number of days in office and till the end of his term. Also the number of days since he declared the end of major combat in Iraq and since he said that Osama was "wanted dead or alive". Rounding out the list is the count of days since 9/11. By using these counters, you should be able to judge for yourself how well he is doing in his job.
BushTime is pretty simple to use, mostly you just look at it. When a new update is avalible, then the version number in the buttom left of the widget changes to a link. This link will take you to the update page. For those of you who wear tin foil hats, this feature can be turned off on the reverse panel (the i button). Finaly, several color themes have been provided to suit your needs. Simply pick the color from the theme drop down and press the done button.
