Superstition 1.0
Superstition is a set of 7 icons about human Superstitions more>>
The initial inspiration for this icon set is the song "The Artist" by Big Rude Jake (Bio: http://www.maplemusic.com/artists/brj/bio.asp). If you have heard the song I think youll draw a connection, though I have tried to avoid offending anyone and have excluded any drawings depicting religious objects.
When I was 4 or 5 years old my family spent the night at my grandmother and grandfathers house, which was a cottage in a pine tree forest near Hanover, Ontario. Sometime that night I woke up and my gaze fell on the night sky outside the bedroom window. I remember clearly seeing a shooting star briefly arc above the pine trees and then I fell back to sleep.
The "shooting star" icon is composed from that personal memory.

LongPlayer 1.0.1 is an effective program designed to automatically fill your iTunes playlist and basically replaces the randomization feature of those media players.
Those of you who have converted all of your CDs into mp3s (or wma/ogg/..) and try to shuffle songs in your big, static all-containing playlist will surely know the problem that you already heard some song. That random function just doesn't seem random enough! The main reason for this is the birthday-problem: the chances that you hear a particular song twice in, say the same day, are quite small, but the odds of ANY song playing twice in that timespan, are real, very real. Your typical media player just selects a random song from a statically generated list without saving where it last left off.LongPlayers smart queuing checks how long it has been since you heard a song, how good you think a song is and what genre you think it belongs in.
Major Functions:
- Hide: you can hide the Windows version by clicking on the tray icon
- "DJ function": in the Preferences, you can specify a song or soundbite to be queued every x songs.
- It is possible to search for songs using name, date and rating constraints.
- Song information can be imported and exported to XML
Major Features:
- Works with WinAmp, XMMS and iTunes
- Dynamic playlists: make random, always-up-to-date playlists in a matter of seconds: just include the directories you want to hear; there's no need to add newly downloaded music.
- Rate your songs and assign a genre from a continuous spectrum
- Smart queuing: always hear the music you want to hear, based on:
- The last time you heard it
- The rating and genre
- Advanced searching capabilities
- Lots of other stuff, e.g. automatic trimming of playlists, remote control, DJ function, XML database, mIRC integration, etc.
Enhancements: Fixed crashes when there are no playlists
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
