Subnet Mask may be entered in either dotted decimal notation or directly in number of bits masked.
You may also click on the Subnet Mask button to change to the Wildcard Mask view. Click again to go back to the Subnet Mask view.
Whats New in This Release:
· Fixes a bug in 1.4 where pressing enter in a field would cause both the Subnet Mask view and the Wildcard Mask view to appear and throw off the layout of the widget.
With IP Monitor, youll no longer have to open the TCP/IP (or MacTCP) control panel in order to view your Macintoshs IP (or subnet mask) address.IP Monitor is scriptable.
The package includes the whatmask source code and the A.S.S. source code.
It then reports back to you what servers are running on your subnet, what port, and what model of server is running.
httpScanner is multi-threaded for efficiency and speed.
httpScanner was developed and tested using OS X, Jaguar.
Some often used Tables for ASCII and ANSI Codes are included, too. The included Subnet Calculator Module does Subnet calculating for Class B and C Subnets and lets you generate Subnet- and Host-Lists, either as Tables on screen or export them as ASCII-Text file for further processing. ZiskoCalc is freeware and comes with no warranties. Is is availabe for Mac OS X, OS9 and Microsoft Windows Platforms.
* The subnet mask corresponding with the prefix size (eg "/24" = "255.255.255.0")
* The network address (ie, where the bits of the host portion are all zeroes)
* The broadcast address (ie, where the bits of the host portion are all ones)
* The range of valid host addresses for the subnet
IPGadget also highlights suspect addresses where:
* The IP address is either the network or broadcast address for the subnet, or is reserved (class E)
* The subnet portion of the network prefix is either all zeroes or all ones (classsic mode)
* The subnet mask is incorrect for the class of address
IPGadget is particularly useful when designing IPv4 networks. The prefix-size popup menu makes it easy to verify route aggregation or summarization masks, and the stepper quickly recalculates the address field for the next or previous subnet in sequence.
You choose whether to impose classful or classless rules. For example, sometimes its simpler to skip all-zeroes or all-ones subnets rather than waste time explaining Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) to people who should know better. Alternatively, if legacy devices in your network preclude you from using CIDR, IPGadgets online help includes an example explaining the classic rules.
IPGadget also provides a handy reference to address-class ranges, the ranges reserved for use in private internets, and the link-local range.
Whats New in This Release:

Whats New in This Release:
· Fixed a bug which caused clicked letters to stay shaded and sometimes left a spinning progress indicator running when it shouldnt. Sorry, folks.
MacPing(tm) is an IP and AppleTalk network testing tool. Just as sonar or radar systems send a signal and wait for an echo, MacPing sends "probe packets" (ICMP or AppleTalk echo packets) into the network and waits for responses from the various devices on the network. The arrival of these response packets (or the lack of responses), along with the time the responses take to arrive, can tell a great deal about the network.
MacPing differs from other network testing programs in that it tests all the devices on a particular network in parallel. This allows you to compare the performance of different devices on the same wire to determine the cause of network problems.
MacPing can test devices on anywhere on your AppleTalk network - simply choose the desired zone from the Zone: popup menu. If that zone contains multiple networks, choose the desired network number from the Network: popup. MacPing can also test IP networks. You can enter a host name or IP address and MacPing will test that device. In addition, MacPing can automatically determine a hosts subnet, and test all the devices on that subnet.
Limitations:
· 30 days trial.
You can do all this with KeyShowX! Launch KeyShowX Client application alongside with your Keynote or PowerPoint installation. And then from any Mac or PC in the same subnet you can control presentation with KeyShowX Control application. No configuration efforts required: only enabling Mac OS X UI Scripting support. It is perfect companion to Keynote and PowerPoint for exhibition booths, multi-screen presentations and showroom environments.
Here are some key features of "KeyShowX":
· Control from single networked Mac or PC one or several Keynote and PowerPoint packages located at the same subnet. Sending controlling messages at the same time: imagine several Macs doing together Keynote s 3D transitions.
· You can remotely launch Keynote or PowerPoint with any ready presentation, start show, advance it, stop show, and quit.
· Remote auto advancing in sync any number of presentations with looping and fixed number of slides.
Limitations:
· Unregistered version of KeyShowX Client is limited to 20 commands per launch.
It redirects incoming connections on port 4689 to port 3689. Thisallows for the iTunes music sharing server normally run on port 3689(but with limited access), to be reached on port 4689 globally.
Thelocal network limitation in the iTunes sharing server is achieved bysending server responses with a low IP time-to-live. By doing a localport redirection, the server responses are sent with the normal TTL,and the "subnet" limitation is eliminated.
This tool is different from other scanning tools as it will find hosts regardless of any personal firewall which may be running on the host. This is achieved through the use of forced ARPs.
ONLY SCAN NETWORKS FOR WHICH YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO SCAN!

Due to the way that most routers are configured, NetBooting is typically constrained within a subnet. This means that if you wanted to NetBoot all the machines in your organization (and I dont mean simultaneously) you would have two choices:
1. Have your network administrator configure your routers to add your NetBoot servers IP address to the list of IP Helper addresses or
2. Maintain a NetBoot server on every subnet of your network.
While the first option is the "Right Way®" to do NetBooting across subnets, it is poorly documented and often includes political battles that many people would rather not fight (which is too bad, its really quite easy and harmless to do). Option 2 is costly and probably not the most efficient use of resources, especially if you only NetBoot your machines once every few months for the purpose of reimaging them.
So what is left for those of us that simply want to occasionally NetBoot a bunch of machines scattered across a rather robust but fragmented network? In short, you can edit theOpen Firmware startup parameters such that your clients boot directly to your NetBoot server.
Whats New in This Release:
· Added support for EFI-based Macs
· Aplication is now a Universal binary
· Added support for "next boot only" option available to EFI-based Macs.
Davtri Fingerprinting HTTP Scanner is an HTTP Scanner that searches on both common and uncommon ports and attempts to identify what http server is running.
This application allows you to scan one host at a time, a comma separated list of hosts or a whole subnet (subnets can be a little slow, but when scanning 254 hosts, you have to expect that).
The application also allows you to save the results in two different file formats. The first is a raw (plain text) format that can be used more easily by other software and scripts for automated analysis. The second format is a styled, valid xhtml report for a more formal and human readable report.
GlowWorm FW Lite is a tool that will notify you with an authorization dialog about any unauthorized network activity.
Rules can be defined on the basis of a set of connection criteria include the addresses, ports, relevant endpoint and protocol. Additionally, rules can be restricted to a particular set of users, groups or applications, and the lifetime of a rule can be limited by the lifetime of that application or until the machine reboots.
Relative Network Names allow one to specify symbolic endpoint address like localhost, localnet or remotenet instead of having to "hard code" an ip subnet address.
Rule Actions can alert you using a user-customizable dialog message (based on an sprintf-like format so that you can choose what information to include), if a particular rule matches.
Support for incoming and listener connections provides a more precise means of controlling network traffic than offered by the Mac OS X Firewall.
Drag-and-drop rule re-ordering makes prioritizing rules an intuitive and easy process.
