Free styled text software for mac

StyledTextToRecord is an AppleScript that enables you to convert styled text to a record and viceversa.

This is a compiled AppleScript, a handler (or framework, if you prefer so) called "StyledTextToRecord" which will accept styled text as input and will return as output a record containing pertinent info about bolds, colors, font sizes, etc. of such text.

It also provides a handler for the reverse function called "RecordToStyledText". It accepts as input a record formated as returned by "StyledTextToRecord".
There are included two little samples. The first one will convert styled text to basic HTML. The second one will convert styled text to plain text, except for bolds.

Rotate Text is an Adobe Illustrator plugin which enables the user to rotate point text to 90, 60, 45, 30, 0, -30, -45, -60 or -90 degrees.

Completly freeware for non-commercial use.

Check Text is an AppleScript extension that adds commands for geting information of text.
In the Plain Text commands, the specified data is always handled as plain text. That is, the data is coerced to plain text (by Apple Event Manager) first if it is not.
For example, even the styled text is coerced to plain text anyway so that the original script (language) code is not considered.
Enhancements:
- Mac OS X version and PowerPC native versions are now available.
- The file name was changed from "Text X" to "Check Text".
- Functionally not changed from 1.1.1 but some parts of code were improved.

The Style -> Stylesheet script searches across the current quark document looking for every paragraph whose first character is equal to the current paragraphs first character, and applies a user-selected stylesheet to it.

Completly freeware for personal use.

Its generally regarded as good practice to include descriptive or helpful text in an images alt (alternative) attribute. This not only aids those using browsers that either dont support images, or have the feature disabled, but also helps the visually impared who use screen readers to describe your web pages.

The controls for adding this text, either automatically or manually, can be found at the foot of the inspector palette.
Unfortunately Freeway doesnt give us direct access to styling this text and because of this it is often left to the browser to display it in its default font style.
Alt Text Style uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to define a style for the alt text associated with either a single image or all of the images on a page.

Using the action:
Simply attach the action to an image on your page and choose if the settings should apply to just this image or all images on this page using the "Apply to" menu in the actions palette.
Under the font settings section you can set the style for the images alt text including the colour, fonts, size and units (pixels or points) as well as bold and italic styles.

StyleSheet is a collection of 10 AppleScripts for QuarkXPress dealing with various stylesheet issues.
SSheet - Set Font of 1st Char - This script will set the font of the first character of a paragraph, styled with an indicated stylesheet, to a chosen font. This especially useful for paragraphs containing a drop cap.
SSheet - Find Change w/Check - This script will search for occurences of an indicated stylesheet and replace each occurence with another stylesheet. The user has the option to search and replace either in the current story or throughout the document.
SSheet - Make Run-in Heads - This script will apply text styling to the run-in head of every paragraph styled with the indicated stylesheet. To make this script have no user interaction, set the styleToSearchFor to the requested stylesheet name, and the terminationCharacter to the requested character ending the run-in heads.
SSheet - Add/Style ParaEndChars - This script will add indicated characters to the end of every paragraph of a story that is styled with an indicated stylesheet.
SSheet - Re-Apply Certain Style - This script will set the stylesheet of every paragraph of a story or selection, styled with an indicated stylesheet, to "no style" and then re-apply the original stylesheet of the paragraph. This process removes any added character level formatting in the found paragraphs.
SSheet - Copy Run-in Heads - This script will apply the text styling of the current text selection to the run-in head of every paragraph of the current story who is styled with the indicated stylesheet.
Recto/Verso Stylesheet Replace - This script will check for every occurance of a chosen style sheet in a text flow. If the occurence is on a specified type of page (either recto or verso), it will be changed to a second indicated style sheet.
SSheet - Re-Apply All - This script will set the stylesheet of every paragraph of a story to "no style" and then re-apply the original stylesheet of the paragraph. This process removes any added character level formatting in the paragraph.
SSheet - Read/Apply Next Style - This script will, starting with the first paragraph, read the next style property of the style sheet of each paragraph and apply that next style to the following paragraph in the text flow.
