This software is a fun journey into sound and virtual music.

The style of music is based on the Indian Ragas which evoke calmness & meditation and makes use of sound samples from some of the most popular Indian musical instruments; flute, sitar, santoor, violin, guitar and tabla. Music Rescue is a accessory designed for your iPod that enables you to copy the contents of your iPod to any Mac that has a FireWire port. Specifically, it is useful for managing music and contacts.

When copying music, PodUtil will sort the copied files by artist and/or by album and can associate copied files with iTunes or any number of other MP3 player applications. When used to manage iPod contacts.

The Music Recommendation System is an automated system that provides music recommendations specifically tailored to each user to find new music that they might like. This system, designed by students at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana), operates by taking ratings (or playcounts) from your own iTunes playlists and comparing them against other users who have used the recommendation system. Right now we have a very small number of users, and so the recommendations will most likely be laughable. However they will get better over time as more people enter into the system; meanwhile, enjoy while the numbers grow. Download the client try it out. Tell your friends to try MRS to help improve the results.

Random Music plays random mp3 tracks from your music collection. It maintains a flat database of tracks, detailed genres, and weights, and generates a weighted random playlist from the user-selected genres. The ID3 and ID3v2 fields (title/artist/album), detailed genre, and weight (0-9) for the currently-playing track can be edited, and tracks can be removed from the playlist.

For example, a user can select only tracks with a minimum weight of 5 from the subgenres "Pop - 1970s" and "R&B - 1970s", and the playlist will adjust accordingly.

Music Assistant was developed to help set a tempo and tune your instruments.

Music Assistant has information for 28 instrument tune-ups. Because there are many tune-up variations, the application includes an Instrument Data window, accessed from the menu bar, where the user can add, delete and change tune-up data. Above you see the Instrument Data window.

The user has scrolled down and clicked on the Guitar row. The "Load Fields" button has been clicked and data for that Guitar row has been loaded into the fields below. The button to the left of Note 1 is selected. The next step would be to choose a note from the "Choose Note" drop-down menu and click on the "Use Note" button to update Note 1 data.

Data for other notes can be changed in the same manner. When all data is updated as desired, click on the "Update Row" button to replace the row data with the data in the fields. A new row can be added; at minimum, a new row must have a name and Note 1 data. When a row is added to the table, the table is sorted based on the instrument name field.

A row can be deleted by selecting a row and clicking on the "Delete Row" button. Click on the "Clear Table" button to delete all rows; click on the "Use Default Data" button to restore the 28 default rows. To hear one second of a note selected in the "Choose Note" drop-down menu, click on the "Hear Note" button.

Music Collector is a tool designed to help you catalog your CDs in a database automatically. No typing needed, just insert a CD in your CD-ROM drive, scan its barcode or type artist and title to download all data from various sources on the internet (like freedb and Amazon), including artist, title, track titles and the cover image.

Use the integrated TWAIN support to scan cover images directly into the program.

Browse your collection by artist, title, year, etc... or use the Thumbnail View to view your cover images. Sort and group on any field, print lists and export to HTML, CSV or XML. Use the integrated Loan Manager to track which CDs you loaned and to whom.
