Stamp it! 2.0 is designed to be a user-friendly and comprehensive tool which is able to current date and time with prefixing current total number of stamps to the comment field of files/folders. example: "0001 Friday, December 31, 2004 11:59:59 PM" The droplet version does it for items dropped on it. The folder action script does it for items added to folders the script is assciated with.
The prefix ensures that stamped items can be sortable by comment in the Finder, where the count starts from 0, increases 1 per each stamp and reset to 0 if it exceeds 9999. The format of date and time relies on your settings in the "Date and Time" in the System Preference.

If you have Akua Sweets scripting addition installed, the format for both date and time will be precisely as you have them set in the Date & Time Control Panel (but without seconds): for example 2000-10-05 - 15:35, or 10/05/00 - 3:35 PM, or however you may have it set.
Otherwise it will be in the month/day/year order you have set with / slash as date separators and 12 or 24-hr clock version as set by your computer, for example: 5/10/00 3:35 pm. There will be no leading zeros for day or month, if you have m/d/yy format, but with leading zeros if you have d/m/yy or yyyy/mm/dd format.
