srm
iShred 1.1
iShred provides an interface to the SRM or secure delete function more>>
iShred is a front end to the Unix "srm" command. As far as what it does, the man page for "srm" sums it up best...
srm removes each specified file by overwriting, renaming, and truncating it before unlinking. This prevents other people from undeleting or recovering any information about the file from the command line.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. FILES DELETED WITH THIS PROGRAM ARE NOT RECOVERABLE, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Enhancements:
- added option to skip warning panel on launch
- added option to use the 35 pass Gutmann method
- remember previous settings
- now uses brushed metal texture (I think it looks cooler).
iShred Express 1.0
iShred Express provides a drag and drop interface to the SRM or secure delete function more>>

Overwritten 1.0 is regarded as a beneficial tool which uses srm to rename and overwrite files repeatedly in order to ensure they cannot be recovered, even through extensive examination.
It can easily be used to delete text files that may contain sensitive information such as credit card numbers. Overwritten will not, however, remove the resource fork of a file, so take this into consideration before employing it.
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.1 or higher

Trash It!... This AppleScript force-empties your Trash and/or removes stubborn items. Especially useful if you have files or folders in the Trash with permissions set incorrectly, locked Trash items, want to securely delete a stuck item, or trash items from other partitions. If you drop files or folders onto the Trash It! icon, it will delete them immediately. If you double-click on it, it will clean out your Trash can.
Trash It! should be used when:
1. You cant get rid of trash items manually.
2. You cant move items to the trash.
3. You have a large number of items to delete (i.e., previous system folders).
4. You just like using cool scripts. :)
This is not a Finder trash can replacement! It should be used as a last resort!
Mac OS X 10.3 or later, 24U Appearance OSAX v3.01 (incl.) -- If its not installed, will now run the installer included.
Version 3.6.1:
- Updated 24U installer to 3.01 for Tiger as well as Panther. Reg. Code embedded in script, hence it being run-only. Will run the installer if your version is out of date from within Trash It
- Keychain Scripting isnt working as documented, so it was removed from Trash It!. Apparently caused by a Security Update from Apple in Panther and carried over into Tiger. Working on fix.
- Uses the new SRM included with Panther and Tiger, so it will use medium level deletion on run (see readme)
- Now has a progress indicator bar
