Cue-splitter 2.6 is the quickest and easiest way to split large MP3s and Ogg-files using cue-files and add the ID3-Tags from the cue-file.

libgramofile is a library which allows long sound files to be split and cleaned. libgramofile provides a module, Audio::Gramofile, which gives an interface to Perl.

In Internet newsgroups large files often are split into smaller parts since messages can not be of more than a certain size to be able to post them in newsgroups.
For that reason you can find often binary files that are split in parts like filename.mp3.001, filename.mp3.002, filename.mp3.003 etcetera. It is possible to put these parts together using commands in the Terminal yet not everybody is handy with that.
That is why I decided to create a small utility with the OS X interface that makes it easy for people to split large files to be uploaded, or to put together split files downloaded from the Internet.Of course, you can also use this program to split or recombine files that are too large e.g. to be put on one CD.

I decided to create a file split and recover application when I have forced to move a >800 Mb file from a PC to my loved Apple iBook. Of course, I had no DVD burner, and Id like to split my huge file in smaller chunks.

After having searched the web I realized that there wasnt an application suitable for my needs: some applications were not free, some did not work on both (Windows and Mac OSx) platforms and most of them did not provide a simple way to recover the original file from the created fragments.

In fact, the problem of recovering the fragments is not difficult to solve if someone is used to DOS and unix shell, but I wanted something that could be used easily from everybody.
