Species Distribution Map is a dashboard widget that will show you the global distribution map based on the data from the GBIF network.

Get Traffic Map 1.0 is one of the most advantageous tools to figure out how bad your commutes would tend to be.

The solution: An AppleScript that opens a Google Map centered on the Bay Area with the traffic information layer turned on. It then takes a screenshot and saves it in the "Traffic" folder on the desktop, with the date and time as part of the file name. Finally, it opens the screenshot in Graphic Converter and crops it so just the map is visible.

Requirements:

• Mac OS X 10.4 (Other versions of Mac OS X--e.g. 10.3.x or 10.5.x may work but have not been tested. Use at your own risk.)

SigAlert Traffic Maps is a nice and useful widget that allows you to get the latest traffic maps for your local freeway traffic.
Main features:
- Using the maps from SigAlert.com, the following cities/regions are currently supported:
Inland Empire (San Bernardino), Los Angeles (greater LA, West LA, and East LA), Orange County, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Ventura
- The widget can be resized and allows panning of the map so that you can focus on the data you are interested in (settings will be stored for each instance of the widget).
- Pointing the mouse over any speed dot or incident icon will display a popup with additional details - pointing the map over a camera icon will display a live traffic camera picture from that location.
- Double-clicking the map will open the corresponding full map in your browser
- The current speeds and incident reports will be updated every 60 seconds when the Dashboard is showing.

- Add support for panning the map using arrow keys (hold down the option key for faster panning).
Improvements/bug fixes:
- Use a custom scrollbar for the popup instead of the default Acqua one. This looks much nicer, uses less space, and follows Apples widget design guidelines.
- Dont display incident details on the popup if the mouse has been moved to another map item in between loading and showing the details.
- Display a note if a camera image is currently unavailable instead of showing the missing image icon.
- Fix several display glitches when using the widget with the current WebKit nightly builds - this should ensure that the widget will display correctly once 10.5 is released.
- Fix several Javascript errors that showed up when running with the latest WebKit nightly builds.

Second Life Map Widget is created with the code wrote for the Main Grid map page. Second Life Map Widget will run under OS X 10.4.3 or later.

Installation: Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required. If youre using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widgets icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

If youre using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widgets icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

Usage: Use the on-map controls to pan or zoom. Change the name of the sim displayed or the coordinates to jump to that location. Double-click on the map to re-center. The teleport button will open the location in your Second Life client map, or open the client with that location as your login point.

Weather Map is an AppleScript application made to download the current weather maps for your selected region of the USA. When you run "Weather Map" it looks at the preferences made by the "Weather Map Run First" application to determine what region you have selected.

Then it downloads the weather maps for your region. It creates a folder on your desktop called Weather to store the maps.

It then creates a sub folder for that download labeled with the date. It stores the maps for the day in that folder. "Weather Map" will ask you if you would like to keep the maps. If you dont want to save the maps, "Weather Map" will delete them for you.
