Sound of an Image converts images into music. Open an image, choose which instruments to use, and hit "Play".
Sound of an Image will magically transform into real music the pictures you load into it.

- You can download the source code to SoundOfAnImage here. SoundOfAnImage is written in Objective-C using both Cocoa (AppKit) and Carbon (QuickTime). I wouldnt exactly call this high-quality code; SoundOfAnImage is more of an art project to me than a serious piece of engineering.

I would be the first to say that Qualcomms Eudora is a great email program, but it does have a few strange habits that really irk me:
- It beeps if one tries to save an outgoing email message that doesnt need saving.
- It beeps AND displays a dialog if one accidently taps a key while reading an email message.
- When "Alert" email notification is set, it puts up an alert just to tell me I have NO mail.

These patches simply remove this unnecessary user interaction.

Sound Shuffler X 1.7 is a free program which prevents you from being sick of the default alert sounds that came with your Mac. This application will allow you to randomize the beep, each time it occurs. You can also insert your own sounds to the mix. Everytime your system throws an alert beep at you, you'll be welcomed with a randomly picked sound effect instead.

Sound Set Scripts are a pair of AppleScripts that choose a new Sound Set on startup and turn Sound Sets off.

To install Place one in the Startup Items folder and another on your desktop.

Sound Pan is a REALbasic example that demonstrates how to use the pan property of a sound to track an object in the left and right audio channels.

Completly freeware for non-commercial use.

SoundOn! prevents PowerBook G4s (and other Mac models too) speakers from turning off when you use battery power. In fact, to save energy, Mac OS X turns PB G4s speakers off after a while if no sound is played and youre using battery power.
The negative side of this is that when the computer plays a sound you see the spinning rainbow cursor and have to wait for two or three seconds (while the computer waits for the speakers to be turned on) before you can continue using the computer.
SoundOn! plays a "silence" sound every twenty seconds, so that your PowerBooks speakers will be never turned off and will be ready to play when needed: so youll stop waiting at every damn sound! :-)
You may say that this will lower the duration of the battery and probably it does, but I can say that battery performance decrease is not noticeable. Another thing... SoundOn! is not needed on Mac OS 9 since this OS doesnt seem to turn off speakers.

Enhancements:
- The application automatically quits if it is launched under Mac OS X 10.1.1 or lower.
- The silence sound is executed every 20 seconds instead of 10, so that SoundOn uses even less processor time than version 1.0.

UT2004 Sound Fix (Unofficial) is an unofficial patch which is able to fix an issue with directional sound issues in the Unreal Tournament 2004 engine used in the Americas Army game. These problems exist even in the 3204 and 3229 engine releases. Unlike previous OpenAL library patches, this one doesnt break VOIP (voice over IP).
