Presto 040 Software is required with Presto 68040 processor upgrade cards. It must be installed as part of the upgrade process.

Presto 040 Software installs as follows into your System Folder: Presto Extension (Extensions Folder), Presto 8 Enabler (Extensions Folder), and Virtual Enabler (System Folder).

The Presto 8 Enabler will enable the use of Mac OS 8 and the Virtual Enabler will enable the use of virtual memory or RAM Doubler on Presto 040 supported computers (excluding the Macintosh LC).
