GLoarbLine Client and Server 1.9.6 is a potential and easy to use client and server suite based upon the GNU General Public Licensed "Openline" source code.
GLoarbLines underlying architecture follows the original Hotline protocol. As such, it functions just like a regular Hotline client and server; and all original, or third party, clients which follow the Hotline protocol, should be able to easily connect to a GLoarbLine server.
While the GLoarbLine client and server are similar to the original Hotline software, the latest release of the GLoarbLine suite enjoys a unique feature set which you will not find in the older Hotline, Openline and Underline releases.
While there are currently no Intel-only or Universal Binary versions of the GLoarbLine client or server, be aware that the Carbon version works perfectly fine on
Major Features:
- Features on the Admin side:
- Client users can be forced to either post in the public chat window, or else in the news, before being able to download. This is a great way to stop annoy- ing download bots, such as Pitbull users, etc. It is very effective.
- The GLoarbLine server can refuse connections from users who have private chat and/or private messaging disabled in their preferences. The server will send the user a message advising them why they are being prohibited from logging onto the server.
- The GLoarbLine server can ban by both IP address, as well as by specific user names.
- The GLoarbLine server has 10 tracker registration slots, as opposed to the original five in the old Hotline server.
- The GLoarbLine server admin can enable or disable kicks/bans by the admin from being announced in the public chat window.
- The GLoarbLine server has an admin-editable, global login message. This message can be posted in the users public chat window, sent as a private message to the user with both Reply and Dismiss buttons, sent as a private message to the user with just a Dismiss button, or sent to the user as a Broadcast message.
- The "temporary ban delay", (how long a user is temporarily banned), is admin-definable.
- The "away delay", (how long before the user is grayed out), is admin-definable.
- The "incorrect login message" is admin-definable.
- The "chat before downloading" message to the user is admin-definable.
- The "post in news before downloading" message to the user is admin-definable.
- The admin can set a user to "fake red" status.
- The admin can make a user visible or invisible.
- The admin can block a users download.
- The admin can change a users name and icon while they are logged into the server.
- The admin can change the users "away" status.
- Features on the User side:
- The user can set the client to automatically agree to a servers "Agreement".
- The user can disable the clients startup splashscreen.
- The user can refuse server broadcasts.
- MacOS 7 through OS 9.
- Mac OS X 10.2 or later.

DiskLister Client enables you to access search and browse databases of your files over the network. Client applications are bound with Server. Clients send requests to Server and display results they get from it. They can only search and browse databases.
Client looks very similar to the Admin application. Anyway Client is for searching and browsing databases only - it's missing icons (and functions) for making databases and adding new or changing existing records.
After first run, before you can use Client, you need to set it up. Do it in Preferences window, clicking the Preferences icon. Preferences
You need to set these settings:
- User name - name of the person, that uses this copy of DiskLister Client. This name will be used in logs with user's IP.

- Servers - bookmarks of your favorite DiskLister Servers. One Client can be connected to only one Server at time.
With "Remove", "Add as New" and "Confirm" buttons you can remove, add new and change existing bookmarks. Bookmark should contain 3 basic parameters:
- Bookmark name - like name of the Server. You write it directly into the field next to the popup arrow of the bookmarks.
- Server IP - you can get this information from the "My IP" field of DiskLister Server window.
- Port number - number of port on which Server should be listening. Again - you can get this information from the "Port" field of DiskLister Server window.

Helix Server 6.1.4
Helix Server is created to be a versatile utility which provides Clients around the world simultaneous access to a Helix RADE collection (relational database) more>>
Helix Server 6.1.4 is created to be a versatile utility which provides Clients around the world simultaneous access to a Helix RADE collection (relational database). Helix RADE uses a proprietary graphical development environment that makes complex database programming possible, even for non-programmers. Helix Server makes those databases available (via TCP/IP) to workgroups of from 2 to 200 user with similar ease of use.
Major Features:
- Helix Client/Server is used to enable all the users in a workgroup to access collections created with RADE simultaneously and manipulate the data inside. Unlike file sharing, users may access all the same files at the same time with the only exception being that two or more users may not change the same record in a file at the same time (record locking).
- Comprised of Helix Server and Helix Client, this product allows any Helix Collection that is set up to operate in User Mode to run on a variety of network configurations.
- The software is sold according to the number of users simultaneously accessing an application. While Helix Client/Server can be operated without a dedicated server (i.e., computer), it is strongly recommended that one is used for optimal performance.
Requirements:
- Server (Intel): Macintosh OS X 10.5 and higher
- Server (PowerPC): Macintosh OS X 10.4 and higher
