Clean Shutdown (CS) is an AppleScript which moves user specified files and folders to the trash, empties the trash and shutdown the Mac. Why would one want such a script?
A common problem in web browsing is that the browsers disk cache gets too large which can result in slow browsing and a huge waste in hard disk space. Furthermore, cookies, which might contain personal information, can reveal their contents to anyone. Temporary files/folders which should be deleted on a regular basis. Ridding MacOS 8.x of the ObjectSupportLib extension or even avoiding the known variants of the AutoStart worm. These are examples of what CS was written to automate.
Enhancements:
- Version 1.1 does exactly the same thing as the original v1.0, except for support for international and more robust folder handling. (thanks to Alain P. Tytgadt).

If you have one of these keyboards and would like to restore the convenience of the shutdown key, Shutdown Script will help you by assign it to one of the existing function keys, say F15.

SDT was created to fill the authors need to shutdown a mac after a long unattended backup completed.
Hope others find it useful.
Enter the date/time to shutdown the mac and the administrator password. SDT does not provide a method of killing the shutdown once it is activated, so be sure before pressing the "set" button. To kill the shutdown use Apples Activity Monitor, find the shutdown process and use the Quit button. It will ask you for an administrator password.
SDT is free software. No enhancements are planned and no support is provided. SDT runs only in OS X 10.3 +
