goSerial is an application that lets you talk to serial devices more>>
This type of application is often refered to as a terminal, because it mimics the behaviour of the terminal hardware that was used to communicate with servers and mainframes in the old days.
While only few people need to talk to server machines through serial cables today, there are a lot of other devices that use some sort of serial connection:
Modems
Routers
Cell Phones
Communications Equipment (e.g. Packet Radio)
Industrial or Medical Equipment
Although most new Macs come without an old style serial port, many of them feature an internal modem that acts as a serial device.
You can also get serial adapters for the USB port or PCI cards with serial ports and use those to talk to external serial hardware.
Enhancements:
- build as a Universal Binary
- time limit removed.
MRJ Adapter 1.0.6
Java virtual machine development tool. more>>
MRJ Adapter is an easier path for developers because it is easier to learn, leveraging concepts they already know, such as action listeners to handle menu items. It also shields the developer from the problems associated with compiling their code on other platforms when the APIs they need only exist on the Mac.
MRJ Adapter incorporates a wealth of knowledge and little-known tricks about Apples virtual machines that no developer should be expected to know off-hand, especially if they come from other platforms. Things like how to bring up a folder chooser dialog, or how to open a document with the application that created it are addressed by MRJ Adapter.
MRJ Adapter implements many things the Apple APIs dont address, such as automatic handling of all-inclusive menu bars, assignment of a menu bar to be shown when no frame is visible, and more.

Serial Mail 4.6
A plug-in for the Mail application to generate serial mailings (mail merge, bulk mail) using data provided by an Address Book group more>>
Serial Mail 4.6 is built as a plug-in for the Mail application which can generate serial mailings (mail merge, bulk mail) using data provided by an Address Book group.
The script will process the message body of the (selected) template message and replace certain tags by their corresponding value from the Address Book for each recipient. You may use custom data by specifying your own labels in the "related names" section of the persons Address Book entry (e.g. "Assistant", "Customer number", etc.) and the script will replace the corresponding tags by the corresponding Address Book values (Example: Use the script to inform students of their score (and other stuff), which is stored in AddressBook).
The program supports almost any of the data fields of the OS X Address Book, including user defined fields. The template rules are also applied to the subject line (so you may generate custom subject lines). Rich text emails may be created (but plain text templates are processed faster).
Requirements:
- Mac OS X 10.5.4
- Apple Mail 3.4
- Apple Address Book 4.1.1
