Using latitude/longitude data from over 40,000 US and 750,000 Canadian zip codes, CrowMatrix calculates distance using the 'as the crow flies' method.
Each selected DayLite contact that has a valid default address and zip code can be selected and used with CrowMatrix. The generated distance matrix is similar to the distance tables one might find on many maps. Once a matrix has been returned, users may choose to view the calculated distances as miles, kilometers, or for those who sail, nautical miles. Double-clicking an intersection will result in a map with driving directions being opened in the default web browser. It is important to note that mapped distances are generally slightly longer, depending on the directness of the chosen route.
