Desktop Screenshots 1.0 is a multi-purpose, highly customizable and flexible shell and desktop tool. This extension can solve a very simple. The standard MacOS screenshot FKEYS (command-shift-3 and command-shift-4) place the Picture files they create at the top level of the hard drive. The screenshot code supports what appears to be an undocumented but intentional method of re-directing them to any folder. Desktop Screenshots uses that undocumented feature to re-direct screenshot files to the desktop of the boot volume, the volume with the active System Folder.

Timed Screenshot 1.1 proves itself to be a helpful tool which can help you make screenshots every few minutes to log what is going on.

1. When you launch this application it runs in the background till you kill it on the Terminal or you log out. There is a configuration file (plain text) where you can change some settings like the time interval in seconds, the name of the destination folder (which can be an alias) and the quality of the JPEG compressor in percent.
   
2. The files are named e.g. "2003-06-05-21-42-48-0.jpg". Year, month, day, hour, minute, second and ID of the screen. It should work with multiple screens, but it's not tested. 3. The application will quit when you shut down your Mac or you log out. To quit at any time you may need the force quit dialog.

Screenshot Helper 2.0 is capable of displaying a full screen window with a solid color or a desktop picture in order that you can take clean screenshots without having irrelevant windows and desktop icons in the background.

Sharpshooter is a small application which aids the management of screenshots. When you take a screenshot on Mac OS X with Command-Shift-3 (or with another variation) Sharpshooter shows a window where you may review the picture and choose what to do with it.
You can either rename it from its default name to something more descriptive, move the screenshot to the Trash, or cancel the operation keeping the screenshot as it is.
Sharpshooter is a background agent application so you may want to add it as a login item to always have it running in the background. You can control Sharpshooter through the menu status item on the right side of the menu bar.
