Zeps Dreamland 1.02
Zeps Dreamland is a block-building platformer more>>
The game consists of navigating Zep throughout a level to reach a certain location which allows him to advance to the next level. This is not such an easy task, however. Many obstacles will be in your path, and it is up to you to determine the best (and sometimes only way) to get around them.
Zep has the ability to create special "blocks" by using the life energy from the ground he is standing on. By building the blocks in specific patterns, Zep can alter the landscape to his ability thus allowing him to reach his goal! Again, not everything is as it seems.
Zep cannot build blocks while standing on top of just anything. There are many types of ground that restrict Zeps building ability. In addition to being able to create these special blocks, Zep can also destroy them.
Enhancements:
- The game now warns the user that a game that is currently in progress will be lost if entering the Continue menu item rather than simply losing the current games data without saying anything.
- The game now warns the user that a game that is currently in progress will be lost if entering the "Tutorial" menu item rather than simply losing the current games data without saying anything.
- Fixed a problem in which starting a new game after loading a saved one would simply restart the loaded level, and not necessarily the first level in that level set.
- Fixed a problem in which escaping to the main menu while playing a level from a set other than the original would never show a "Resume Game" option.
- Fixed a bug in the editor which would clear our the maps contents if the "Load Map" button was selected, and then the dialog was cancelled.
- Relocated the "Last Level" button further to the right to accommodate levels saved with longer filenames.
- Removed the building of a block (if possible) upon selecting the "Resume Game" option when the build key is set to Enter.
- When using "r" to "erase" the map in the editor, the values of the scrolling background are now set to 0.
- Stopped using all deprecated functions (textprintf, for_each_file, etc) and began to use their newer counterparts.
- Fixed all slashes so now they use "/" instead of a Windows style "\"
- Added functionality to the editor to switch between fullscreen/windowed mode on the fly via hitting the "f" key. The editor also stores the previously used mode before quitting in data/ed_settings.txt. If this becomes corrupt: 1 = fullscreen, 2 = windowed.

Software for Starving Students 2006.01
Software for Starving Students - Help students learn about and benefit from Open Source and free software programs more>>
It includes popular Open Source programs like Firefox and OpenOffice, intended to help students learn about and benefit from Open Source and free software programs. The SSS team put all the most commonly used free programs into one download to make it easier for students to install useful software (including fully-featured office suites, 3D graphic editors and much more) for free.
We created SSS because we love Open Source software and want to help make it more accessible to students all around the world. Although all students need good software to be successful, many have a hard time getting it on student budgets. We empathize with them because weve felt that pinch ourselves. This software enables students to achieve more for less, and that inspires us. People all over the world are using free software to make their lives better.
After all of these years of mooching off of great volunteer programmers, this is our little way of saying thanks. By providing a tool that makes their great free software more accessible to software-hungry students from Boston to Bangalore, we feel weve given a little back to the free software community and to students all over the world. We are proud and happy to do so.
hardscan 1.0
Utility to detect open ports if netstat may be compromised more>> Utility to detect open ports if netstat may be compromised
Hardscan is a local netstat replacement that scans for open ports the hard way: by binding to each of them and attempting to handshake with itself.
Hardscan is meant to be useful in a situation where you may have been rooted, rendering the output of netstat and other security tools untrustworthy.
If the program is unable to handshake with itself, for whatever reason (perhaps something intercepted the handshake, perhaps something was already running on that port, etc) it is an indicator that tcp or udp port being checked is already in use.
Although this could be a trojan, virus, or hacker connection, it is also quite possible that it is a legitimate connection.
As the "Ephemeral" high-numbered ports are scanned as well, there is a chance that any outgoing activity (for instance browsing the web while the scan is running) will be picked up.
Of particular note in this program is "--fast" mode. In this state, the scanner does not attempt to handshake with itself, and thusly is not detecting as rigorously.
In theory the OS could be lying to the scanner and simply saying that the socket was opened succesfully, but in practice most trojans are not going to be that sophisticated. Fast mode trades off this verification in order to run much, much, much faster.

SafariCookieCutter 1.3.1
SafariCookieCutter is a product having the function of a simple cookie editor for Apples Safari Web browser. more>>
SafariCookieCutter 1.3.1 is a product having the function of a simple cookie editor for Apple's Safari Web browser. SafariCookieCutter allows any user to add cookies to Safari's cookie database, edit existing cookies, and delete cookies. SafariCookieCutter is useful for increasing the life of existing cookies, and manually importing your cookies into Safari from another browser. SafariCookieCutter is available in English, French, and German.
Cookies are persistent objects stored on your computer by the Web browser. Web servers use them to save data between sessions and then query the data back later. Cookies have some positive uses, such as remembering user names and passwords, but they can also be used for some sites (usually advertisers) to track your Web surfing habits. Cookie editors facilitate adding cookies to the system, and removing the ones you don't want.
Now, some of you are probably saying by now: "But Safari does come with a cookie editor!" Actually, Safari, as of version 1.0, comes with an integrated cookie browser, but it does not include a cookie editor. Currently, it is not possible to use Safari's "Show Cookies" command to add cookies to Safari (other than through normal browsing), or edit the cookies that are already there. SafariCookieCutter can do both, and it can also undo mistakes and much more.
CamelBones 1.0.3
CamelBones - Objective C/Perl bridge framework more>>
There are occasions when you might find yourself saying "this would be so much simpler in Perl," or find yourself writing functionality that already exists in CPAN. Or, you might be reluctant to learn a new language, when all you really want to do is provide a Aqua interface to a Perl script youve already written.
CamelBones is a framework that will allow you to use Perl when and where you need to - without taking away from you the option of using Objective-C wherever thats a better choice.
Alternatively, you might want to add a little bit of Perl to an Objective-C application, but youre getting bogged down in the complexity of Perls embedding API. Or youve waded your way through that, only to find out that now you have to ship separate versions of your application for Jaguar, Panther and Tiger, as libperl isnt binary-compatible from 5.6 to 5.8, and its in a different location for each OS.
Enhancements:
- This release corrects all of the known compatibility issues with regard to Intel-based Macs.
- Also added to this release are a few additional CPAN modules - DBIx::Class, DateTime, and their prerequisites.
BwanaDik 3.0.4
BwanaDik is an IP address (WAN and LAN) menu item, witch keeps you up to date on your net connections activity more>>
Small, simple, and resides in the menu bar Monitors my network for a good connection. If the connection is lost, let me know with an alert the second it comes back online.
Quickly copy my WAN and LAN IP address to the menu bar.
The second point is the most important, which is really why I wrote this thing. See, I work at a coffee shop that has a really crappy DSL line, and an even crappier Airport Base Station.
The connection comes and goes every 5 minutes. And there is nothing more frustrating than opening up Safari and typing in a search in the google bar only to be slapped with an alert sheet saying the site cannot be found. Then I have to sit around watching my Network control panel to see when Im back online again, because a lot of times the info I need on the web is for work.
Now, with BwanaDik, I can look at the menu bar and know right away if I can access the internet or not. Even better, when my network is back online, BwanaDik lets me know right away with an alert window. So now I can keep typing code and when the network is ready, I can go do my searches and whatnot.
So, yes, there are a lot of IP address apps out there. Im sure they are all great. But this one does exactly what I want it to. It probably doesnt do what you want, but thats OK with me. No other features will be added to BwanaDik anyway.
Enhancements:
- Minor performance tweaks.
- Bwanadik no longer uses CPU cycles when auto-updating is off.
