Rule of Three 1.0

Rule of Three - Calculates the proportion and inverse proportion rule of three more>>
You can use the “Rule of Three” Widget without knowing the formula: just mark the field you want to know with an X and enter the two known values of the same unit in a column and the third value in the corresponding field and the request will return the result.

The widget can also calculate the inverse proportion, e.g., for time data (more manpower = less time to work).

Make mailing list rule 1.0

Make mailing list rule 1.0

Make mailing list rule - Make a new rule for a mailing list. more>>
Make mailing list rule is an AppleScript that enables you to make a new rule for a mailing list.

This script will create a folder for a mailing list, and create a rule to move incoming messages for that list into the folder, only if no folder or rule of the same name already exists. It makes the rule the second rule in the rule list--this is because many people have a kill file rule as the first rule.

The script makes the assumption that the To recipient is the list address. If that is not the case, do not use the script for that list. Unfortunately, there is no one characteristic common to all mailing lists that a script can use.

Ferengi Rules of Acquisition - A series of principles that are the foundation of business philosophy in Ferengi culture more>>
If your struggling with business the Ferengi just may have the answer!

According to legend, Gint, the first Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance, coined the first Rule, remembered as #162. (The legend further states that Gint numbered the Rule as the 162nd in order to create demand for the first 161. Some Federation cultural historians are dubious as to the validity of this claim.)

Republican Calendar 1.4

Republican Calendar 1.4

Republican Calendar - shows the date on the French Revolution Calendar and the Republican decimal time more>>
Republican Calendar is a widget that shows the Republican Calendar date (following the 4/128 rule for the leap years) and the decimal time. It is free software offered under the GPL.
The images appearing on the widget were taken from the Republican Calendar of 1794 drawn by Louis-Philibert Debucourt, and they are on the public domain.
Using the 4/128 rule might not be the best choice from a historic point of view. But as it was explained before, since there are no clear rules, and this one is the most scientifically accurate and universal for our times, not depending on the equinox in Paris, nor in Gregorian rules, I think the 4/128 rule is a good choice.

Quarters 1.04

Quarters 1.04

Quarters - Coins game more>>
The original Quarter game deals with the selection of coins from three piles of coins. Each player selects coins in turn and the person left with a single coin to choose loses!

I learned this game several years ago and finally turned it into a program, namely "Quarters". The program has elements of artificial intelligence and follows a "rule-based" AI algorithm. In other words, it plays the game as I do, except it doesnt make mistakes. I think that youll find it hard to beat!

After learning the rules, the beauty of the game is that it can be played anywhere with twelve coins.
While, the strategy of winning the game is complex, it follows some very simple rules, which you may be able to derive from playing the program.
