TiVoRemote 0.23
TiVoRemote - A TiVo remote control for the iPhone/iPod Touch. more>> TiVoRemote - A TiVo remote control for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
Series 3 TiVos, and TiVoHDs, now have an open tcp port for sending remote control commands. This program puts a user interface on top of that, allowing you to control your TiVo with your iPhone or iPod Touch.
(Unfortunately, this cannot control volume, or turn a television on/off. I believe that this could work with an IP addressable IR/RF blaster, or maybe if the television was on the network.)
System requirements:
- iPhone or iPod Touch
Empty Trash 1.0.2
Empty Trash - delete trash files more>>
This script gets all the items which are in the Trash, converts their paths to unix style paths appropriate for Mac OS X, and uses the shell command "rm -rf" to remove them permanently from your drive(s).
The script was written to address the frequently occurring error -8062 (whatever the heck that is) when attempting to empty the Trash when it contains items from a removable drive such as a FireWire external, Compact Flash card, etc.
Enhancements:
- Fixed a bug where files with special unix characters in the filename would not be deleted.

webgen 0.5.5
Static website generation made easy more>> Static website generation made easy
webgen is an easy-to-use, extensible web site generator in Ruby. webgen is used to generate static web sites from templates and content files and provides tools for generating dynamic content like menus.
Anything can be put into webgens source directory sothat it gets copied to the output directory but some file types are handled specially:
- Page files (primarily used to define the content of a web page but can really be used to create about any text-based file format)
- Template files (used to define the general layout of a web page, these are chainable/nestable)
- Gallery files (you create one such file and get a whole image gallery for free, including goodies like EXIF information extraction and automatic thumbnail creation)
- Sipttra files (files using a simple text-based feature/request tracking format)
Although webgen can be used to easily create a finally static website, it allows one to embed dynamic parts in page and template files to support features like dynamic menu generation, dynamic link generation and more. The following methods for adding dynamic content are supported:
- webgen tags: these allow non-programmers to easily add dynamic content using a simple markup syntax. webgen ships with many tag plugins for generating menus and breadcrumb trails, listing all translations of a page, syntax highlighting code fragments or entire files, and much more.
- ERB (embedded Ruby) for custom scripts embedded into content files for advanced users.
Main features:>
- Fast (only the necessary files are regenerated)
- Easy to install and use
- Runs on Linux, Mac OS X, Windows
- Extendable by writing add-ons in Ruby
- Easy to configure if one needs to (no need if you are happy with the default values)
- Command line interface uses command style syntax (like Subversions svn command)
- Markdown (including special syntax like setting header ids and html attributes through the Maruku library)
- Textile
- Haml and Sass
- RDoc (the native API documentation format for Ruby)
- Builder (tool for programatically creating XML documents)
- Smiley-to-emoticon conversion
- Plain text
- Meta information can be specified for every file (e.g. title, menu ordering information)
- Support for specifying virtual files and directories (can be used, for example, to include links to external pages in the menu)
- Generated HTML files can be automatically checked if they are standard conform
Enhancements:
- New configuration option [`tag.menu.nested`][nested]
- Depending on fixed gem version (using `=` instead of `>=`) [nested]: {relocatable: ../documentation/reference_configuration.html#tagmenunested}
- RF#21349: absolute virtual URLs didnt work correctly - small docu fixes
Seagull 1.7.0
Seagull - Free, open source and multi-protocol traffic generator test tool more>> Seagull - Free, open source and multi-protocol traffic generator test tool
Seagull is a free, open source and multi-protocol traffic generator test tool.
Primarily aimed at IMS (3GPP, TISPAN, CableLabs) protocols (and thus being the perfect complement to SIPp for IMS testing), Seagull is a powerful traffic generator for functional, load, endurance, stress and performance/benchmark tests for almost any kind of protocol.
In addition, its openness allows to add the support of a brand new protocol in less than 2 hours - with no programming knowledge.
For that, Seagull comes with several protocol families embedded in the source code:
- Binary/TLV (Diameter, Radius and many 3GPP and IETF protocols)
- External library (TCAP, SCTP)
- Text (XCAP, HTTP, H248 ASCII)
Seagull supports currently the following protocols:
- Diameter base ( RFC 3588) and any Diameter relating application - IMS Cx, Dx, Ro, Rf, Sh over TCP or SCTP or TLS over IPv4 or IPv6.
- TCAP ITU and ANSI and any protocol over TCAP (IS41, Win, Camel, GSM MAP, ...) either over SS7 (E1/T1) or SIGTRAN. For that, it relies on HP OpenCall SS7.
- XCAP over HTTP over IPv4
- HTTP over IPv4
- H248/Megaco ASCII form over UDP or TCP or SCTP/IPv4
- Radius (subset) over IPv4.
Main features:
- Multi-protocol traffic generator
- Command line tool with text interface
- Protocols of the same family are described in an XML, user editable, dictionary (messages, parameters)
- Existing protocol families: Binary/TLV (Type, Length, Value), Raw binary, Text, external API (first implementation: HP OpenCall SS7)
- Support of IP (UDP/TCP), SCTP, SSL/TLS and SS7/TCAP transports
- Portable programming (tested and supported on Linux x86, ia64, HPUX, SunOS and Windows)
- Scenarios are described using XML files
- Multi-threaded for performances and reliability
- Dynamically adjustable scenario rate
- Uniform, Poisson or Best-effort scenario arrival distribution
- Remote-control (scenario-rate set, counter dump) through standard HTTP interface
- Pause and restart of traffic
- Support of automated traffic profile (varying scenario rate)
- Smooth (no new scenarios then wait for ongoing scenarios to end) or brutal end
- Scenario display with message counters
- Scenarios have init (executed once), main (repeated for traffic) sections
- Scenarios have default sections for defense in case of unexpected messages
- A scenario can be mono (most cases) or multi-protocol
- Message and parameters checking possible (disabled by default)
- Support of parameter injection following a CSV like database
- Multiple Seagull instances can be synchronized in the middle of scenario
- Intra scenario synchronization using a synchronization protocol (example application provided in Java language)
- Statistics: timer between two messages, scenario length, scenario rate, successful scenarios, failed scenarios (with reason)
- Protocol decoding and hexadecimal dump
- Trace files with or without timestamps (for performances and automation)
- Page: 1 of 1
