Clipboard Scripts Lite 1.0

Clipboard Scripts Lite 1.0

Clipboard Scripts Lite - a group of AppleScripts designed to automate small tasks that users perform frequently more>>
Clipboard Scripts are a group of AppleScripts designed to provide users with a quick and easy way to become more efficient in their everyday routines. By automating small tasks that users perform frequently, these scripts will help to reduce common repetition in an average users day. This generates more time for focusing on other important tasks.

Clipboard Scripts use the clipboard as the basis for the tasks they perform. The clipboard is a part of the Mac OS which holds data when copying and pasting in different applications. When you select text in a document, and choose "Copy" from the "Edit" menu, the text is copied to the clipboard. The AppleScripts that make up "Clipboard Scripts" are built to perform various tasks to text data on the clipboard.

Clipboard Scripts are intended to be triggered from the Apple "Script Menu", which is included with Mac OS X. You may need to "activate" the script menu, if you havent done so already. This can be done by double clicking on the "Script Menu.menu" item in the "Applications > AppleScript" folder on your Mac OS X computer. Once you have done this, a script icon should appear in your menu bar at the top of the screen.

Scripts used in the scripts menu may be triggered from within any application.
Youll notice that a fairly wide range of scripts are installed by default. "Clipboard Scripts" help to extend that base set by providing additional useful functionality.

This solution includes the following scripts:
• Add Prefix - Prompts for a prefix, and adds that prefix to the beginning of each paragraph on the clipboard. The modified text is then placed back on the clipboard to be pasted into the desired location.

• Add Suffix - Prompts for a suffix, and adds that suffix to the end of each paragraph on the clipboard. The modified text is then placed back on the clipboard to be pasted into the desired location.

• Convert to Lowercase - Converts the text on the clipboard to lowercase format. The converted text is then placed back onto the clipboard to be pasted into the desired location.

• Convert to Uppercase - Converts the text on the clipboard to upper case format. The converted text is then placed back onto the clipboard to be pasted into the desired location.

• Display Length - Counts the characters or paragraphs of the text on the clipboard, and displays the count to the user.

Make a Delivery 1.2

Make a Delivery 1.2

Make a Delivery - Send OS X clients your files as a custom disk image more>> Make a Delivery - Send OS X clients your files as a custom disk image

Make a Delivery is the next step beyond simply zipping files in a generic folder, or sending generic dmgs. "Make a Delivery" also takes the repetition out of preparing files to send via email. Its as easy as select files, name, send.
Theoretically you can load up to 4.36GB onto your delivery. That hasnt been tested by the developer.
How it works
- Double click the application icon. This begins the process.
- You will be asked you to select your files
- You will be asked to name your delivery
- It will process and attach a .zip file with your delivery to a new Apple Mail email.
Note: If you experience a problem, watch to see if you are selecting your files before the Delivery image is mounted. This may occur on slower or burdened machines.
Enhancements
- Clears temp folder before initiating processing.

Anki Stream 0.1.1

Anki Stream 0.1.1

A tool for long-term flash card review Anki Stream is a tool for long-term flash card review, mostly necessary when learning foreign languages more>> A tool for long-term flash card review

Anki Stream is a tool for long-term flash card review, mostly necessary when learning foreign languages.
Like Piotr Wozniaks SuperMemo, Damien Elmes Anki, and the Mnemosyne Project, it schedules flash cards for review using spaced repetition, allowing thousands and tens of thousands of words to be remembered over years and decades. Anki Stream focuses in particular on presenting an intuitive visualization of how cards are scheduled and making the scheduling formula transparent and adjustable by the user.

The Problem

Do you need to memorize a ton of stuff and keep it in your mind for a long time? Flash cards work well for memorizing new words in a foreign language or other small chunks of information.
If you review them frequently, the flash cards can also keep the words or info chunks fresh in your mind over long periods of time, even if you dont use them often in daily life.
But when you are studying intensively for a big foreign language exam, like I am right now for the level 1 JLPT, there are so many new words to learn that without a smart, automatic method of organizing your flash cards for review, your card pile will quickly grow out of hand and become useless.
For example, the level 1 JLPT requires that you learn about 10,000 Japanese words, mostly written in the 2000 or so characters of the general use kanji, no less.
So if you have 10,000 flash cards in front of you, how do you review them? When you sit down to review, you need to know which of your thousands of cards to study right now, and which you still remember well enough to not waste time on.

Main features:
- Human or machine readable xml file format.
- Import/export to comma-delimited text files for faster card editing and swapping.
- Instantly switch between languages (right now just Japanese and English) via the Help menu!

Enhancements
- Fixing "review" kanji in Japanese text.

About the Icon(s):

I am not partial to the "design and duplicate" method of icon illustration, in fact I much prefer reinvention rather than repetition. But I had this swatch of grass lying around that I first used in my "Tombstone Classic" icon and it just kinda sprouted into the icons in this set.

ISA 0.6b

ISA 0.6b

ISA - Finite-state automata with a growing set of features for research more>>
ISA is an acronym for "Infinite State Automata." Lots of researchers believe that FSA (finite state automata) are a parallel for many complex biological systems, including intelligent systems, which I consider to have infinite possibilities, thus the title. Since this is a topic of scientific interest for me, it will always be incomplete in some way.
Enhancements:
- Currently supports 1, 2, and 3-dimensional FSA, though only 1 and 2-dimensional automata can be properly visualized.
- The current automata rule is John Conways Game of Life.
- The map wraps around on the sides, and zooming out will show repetitions.
- This has been somewhat performance optimized.
- Search functionality is included, and is even optimized for any non-trivial search.
- Lots of future developments on the way, many being research-oriented.

VUWER 1.2.4

VUWER 1.2.4

VUWER brings a simple to use, yet sophisticated Applescript application designed to remotely track your MacBook or MacBook Pro (or any other Apple computer) in the event that it is lost or stolen. more>>

VUWER 1.2.4 brings a simple to use, yet sophisticated Applescript application to remotely track your MacBook or MacBook Pro (or any other Apple computer) in the event that it is lost or stolen. VUWER is not foolproof, but it is reasonably secure, easy to implement, and costs nothing but a little time and effort to set up.

Major Features:

  1. VUWER is free of charge, open source, and relies on standard OS X commands and readily available freeware applications for installation and operation. Also, since VUWER is written in Applescript, it is relatively easy to modify or enhance in any way you choose.
  2. You are in complete control of where the captured data from your stolen laptop is sent and how it is accessed; data can be transmitted either by email or by secure file copy to another computer account.
  3. You can remotely capture screenshots, iSight images, and IP addresses from your laptop, and separately choose their respective repetition intervals.
  4. No third-party intermediary is required to track your laptop. VUWER eliminates any possibility of an unscrupulous person at a theft-recovery company snooping on you.
