Reorder Disk Icons 1.0

Reorder Disk Icons 1.0

Reorder Disk Icons - Changes the order of the disk icons more>>
Reorder Disk Icons is a useful AppleScript applet that changes the order of the disk icons like it was before Finder v8.5.

The pre-OS 8.5 Finder uses the mounted disk order.
Finder v8.5 or higher places the disk icons according to the disks free space, with the startup disk first. To place your disk icons as the previous Finder did it, just copy the applet into the "Startup Items" folder.

Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1

Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1

Oracle JDeveloper - a J2EE and XML development environment with end-to-end support for developing applications and Web services more>>
Oracle JDeveloper is a powerful software that marks a significant milestone in the progress of application development.

We spent more time than ever in this release listening carefully to what our users need in order to make them more productive. We also embarked on an intensive design and usability review by an external company.

The result of these efforts is a huge leap forward in the speed in which developers can create, assemble, and reuse components to build rich, interactive applications that are highly performant and easy to maintain.

Enhanced use experience

There have been many updates throughout the product to make working with JDeveloper a pleasant experience. These improvements are not restricted to a particular type of development, but have been applied consistently to all areas of the design time.
• Enhanced navigator: The Application Navigator has been enhanced to organize your application the way you want. New categories make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. Collapsible panels put common elements of your application within easy reach. Files that make up a composite node are conveniently exposed by simply clicking on the composite node.
• Improved Component Palette: The component palette now features collapsible panels and divider sections to organize related components. A quick search field is provided to help locate components. You can now add commonly-used components to your Favorites list for easier access later, and another panel keeps track of your recently used components.
• New Property Inspector: The Property Inspector has been redesigned with a new, user-friendly layout. Property categories have been used consistently throughout the product to make using the Property Inspector more predictable.
• Application Overview: The new Application Overview window provides a convenient listing of all the sources for your application, grouped into helpful categories. From here, you can get a sense of the overall status of your application (which sources are incomplete, which have errors, etc) too. The Application Overview also functions as a way for you to learn about the various kinds of components you may use in your application, and easily launch wizards to create them.
• File List: The File List makes it easier than ever to locate source files that are part of your project. You can search by file name, file extension, status, date modified and more.
• Updated appearance: The JDeveloper development environment has been updated with a brand-new look.
• Integrated modeless editors: Many editors for components have been converted to integrated modeless editors. These appear in the editor area along with the other editors, and allow for much more productive navigation.
• Contextual linking: Contextual linking is the concept that as you are working on something, you should be able to easily get to relevant related resources. For example, as you are working on defining a page flow for databound pages, you should be able to easily get to the page definition of those pages. This concept is now employed wherever it makes sense in the development environment.

Resource Catalog

The Resource Catalog is your window onto the many disparate resources your application may need to consume. It allows you to define connections to the resource providers, and drag-and-drop those resources into your application as needed. The resource catalog provides a search tool to search all the defined repositories in a single action.

Connections can be created for the following types of resource repositories:
• Application server
• Database
• File system
• UDDI Registry
• URL adapter
• WebDAV

New diagramming framework

The internal diagramming framework used to build the UML tools in JDeveloper, the Page Flow diagrams, and other visual editors has been re-architected to be more flexible for internal consumers.

Java Coding and Agile Development

New code generators

New generators have been added for generating equals and hashcode and to simplify generating fields and properties with getters and setters and to generate constructor from fields

Updated JUnit 4.0 support

JDeveloper now generates unit tests using JUnit 4 annotations. The integrated runner has been updated to support JUnit 4, including new instructions, such as @ignore.

New profilers

The new profilers leverage JVMTI and therefore run on any certified Java VM. Oracles OJVM is no longer required for profiling.
• CPU Profiler
• Memory Profiler

XML Compare

Comparing of XML files is now done using an XML-aware algorithm. In previous releases compare was done using a line algorithm with no understanding of the syntax of the file content. XML is used extensively within JDeveloper (projects, diagrams, ADF artifacts) and the characteristics of the file content will be understood by the tool.

For example if an XML elements attributes are reordered the compare tool will not mark that as a change - the attributes (name and value) are the same, but in different positions.

The compare tool is used by all the version control extensions to compare file content with previous versions. Compare is also used by the local history feature to compare content between saved points.

Enhanced Merge Conflict Resolution for Subversion and CVS

JDeveloper now provides an enhanced XML-aware interactive GUI to browse and update unresolvable conflicts reported during the merge process.

View Your Mind 1.9.0

View Your Mind 1.9.0

VYM (View Your Mind) is a tool to generate and manipulate maps which show your thoughts more>>
VYM (View Your Mind) is a tool to generate and manipulate maps which show your thoughts. Such maps are able to help you improve your creativity and effectivity. You can use them for time management, to organize tasks, to get an overview over complex contexts, to sort your ideas etc.
Maps can be drawn by hand on paper or a flip chart and help to structure your thoughs. While a tree like structure like shown on this page can be drawn by hand or any drawing software vym offers much more features to work with such maps.
vym is not another drawing software, but a tool to store and modify information in an intuitive way. For example you can reorder parts of the map by pressing a key or add various information like a complete email by a simple mouse click.
A map can concentrate a very complex content on little space e.g. a piece of paper. It helps to use both sides of your brain: the logical side and also your creative side (e.g. by using pictures, colors and keywords in a map, so called anchors). It is a technique to organize the way you think: It can help you by developing, sorting and memorizing your thoughts.
Because you just use keywords and drawings, it is much faster than good old fashioned notes. Your brain memorizes things by associating them to other things -- a map makes use of those connections and stimulates new asccociations.
vym is designed to make changes in the map very easy: e.g. if you use it for time management, just move a task to another place or recolor it by a simple mouse click in order to assign it to another day in the week or to give it a new priority.
There are lots of webpages (see e.g. the Wikepedia links below) and also books out there, providing lots of information on working with maps.
Enhancements:
Features:
- Opening of tabs in Firefox or Mozilla

- FATE support for URLs
- Added idAttr to BranchObj::saveToDir
- Currently 15 levels of undo (GUI to set value still missing)

- exportDir in XHTML export is correctly saved in map and defaults to current directory
- Workaround QT problem, where QT writes invalid XML code by not escaping & in fontnames
- Images preview in filedialog works again. Seemed to be a QT issue when multiple fileselections were allowed.
- Canvas Size corrected when flag is toggled
- Hide Include Images Horizontally (not implemented yet)
- Include Images Vertically was not read from saved file FloatObjects now use hideLinkIfUnselected, no more drawing errors, if FO is selected (undefined link)
- FloatImages dont get lost during save after they have been relinked to new parent

MenuMeters 1.4b3

MenuMeters 1.4b3

MenuMeters 1.4b3 is known as a set of useful tools for monitoring CPU, memory, disk, and network in MacOS X. more>>

MenuMeters 1.4b3 is known as a set of useful tools for monitoring CPU, memory, disk, and network in MacOS X. Although there are numerous other programs which do the same thing, none had quite the feature set I was looking for. Most were windows that sat in a corner or on the desktop, which are inevitably obscured by document windows on a PowerBook's small screen. Those monitors which used the menubar mostly used the NSStatusItem API, which has the annoying tendency to totally reorder my menubar on every login.

The MenuMeters monitors are true SystemUIServer plugins (also known as Menu Extras). This means they can be reordered using command-drag and remember their positions in the menubar across logins and restarts. MenuMeters is open source freeware released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Major Features:

  1. The CPU Meter can display system load both as a total percentage, or broken out as user and system time. It can also graph user and system load and display the load as a "thermometer". The menu for the CPU Meter contains several pieces of information I like to have a single click away (uptime, load average, open Activity Monitor.app, open Console.app).
  2. The Disk Activity Meter displays disk activity to local disks on the system (anything that is a IOKit BlockStorage driver). It is hotplug aware, and will show activity on FireWire and USB disks as they are mounted. The Disk Meter menu shows volume space details for local drives (it does not display mounted network volumes for speed reasons).
  3. The Memory Meter can display current memory usage as either a pie chart, thermometer, history graph, or as used/free totals. The Memory Meter menu shows a breakdown of current memory usage and VM statistics. The Memory Meter can optionally display a paging indicator light.
  4. The Net Meter can display network throughput as arrows, bytes per second, and/or as a graph. Both the arrows and the graph are scaled using a user-selected scaling factor and calculation. Scaling can be done on the basis of actual link speed reported by the network interface or peak traffic and can use one of several scaling calculations. The Net Meter menu shows current interfaces and their status. Interface information is gathered from the SystemConfiguraton framework and thus is Mac OS X network location aware

Enhancements:

  • Fixed exception when upgrading 1.4b1 preferences.

Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or later
  • PowerPC or Intel based Macintosh (Universal Binary)

RUMtrol746PRO - Software for ICOM IC-746PRO, or in Europe better known as IC-7400 more>>
RUMtrol746PRO is used for the ICOM IC-746PRO, or here in europe better known as IC-7400.
You can edit all the setting and write them to file for later use.
There is no documentation yet, I think it is selfexplained. Only few words to the slider at the button. Move it further to the right, when you get communication failures via the serial port. For my G4@1.33Mc Powerbook I use the default. On a Pentium4@3.4Mc under Windows I set the slider to the center.
Use the default address for the 746 $h66 and the port is configured for 19200baud.
Enhancements:
- Memorylist supports now Drag and Drop for reordering
- Cut, Copy and Paste possible for memorysets (internal clipboard).

Cocoa Fortune 1.40

Cocoa Fortune 1.40

Cocoa Fortune - Unix utility, ported to OS X more>>
Cocoa Fortune is a Cocoa wrapper for the infamous UNIX command fortune. Fortune was/is a small utility that can display an interesting, funny or obscene message.
Many UNIX people run it as part of their login sequence so that they each morning are presented with a thought-worthy maxim to consider during the day.
Unfortunately, Apple has chosen to leave fortune out of the standard Mac OS X installation. That is why I chose to make this Cocoa wrapper for the command, so that other people than command-line freaks and programmers can enjoy the interesting comments of fortune.
I also added a few goodies, such as automatic refresh of the quote, and a user-friendly way to select the range of messages displayed.
Enhancements:
- The title bar can be removed
- The shadow can be removed
- The color of the text can be changed
- Enabled copying the current fortune without selecting the text
- Support for speech in Panther
- Can (re)generate .dat index files for fortune files, several at a time
- The fortune list management has been moved to a separate window
- Drag and drop reordering
- Add files by dragging them to the list
- Instead of using the traditional fortune program, fortunes can be retreived from the Internet host with tens of thousands of quotes, described on this page: http://www.update.uu.se/cookie.html
- Bug fixes and minor tweaks:
- Leak that led to resource starvation (file handles) after some time
- Positioning (over/under the menu bar, belove the Dock)
- Minor redraw bug in preferences
- Made it easier to select fonts
- Window fits the text better, even for fortunes that lack a trailing newline
- The window can be locked to the corner of a secondary screen
- (fortune) Better randomization if called multiple times in a short time
- (fortune) Now uses the latest fortune version from the FreeBSD tree
- Added some command key shortcuts for various menu items
- Code cleanups.

Sudoku Susser 2.5.4

Sudoku Susser 2.5.4

Sudoku Susser - Helps solve Sudoku puzzles more>>
Sudoku Susser is a free program that helps solve Sudoku puzzles.
In addition to being more convenient than pencil-and-paper, the Susser also can show hints, solve the problem step-by-step using human deductive reasoning, or brute-force solve it using recursion.
You can drag Sudoku problems directly from web pages, save, edit, print and more.
And if you like the program, you can tip the author to encourage him to improve it.
Main features:
- You can drag Sudoku graphics from the webpages of major UK newspapers and theyll be scanned and loaded into the application.
- You can manage, rename, reorder, and print out your Sudokus.
- Undo and redo are fully supported.
Enhancements:
- Added ability to unlock a stash of puzzles from my Sudoku books (Brainiac Sudoku / Sudoku To Go) if you know the ISBNs. Coming soon to discriminating bookstores!
- Naked Set / Consequence Tree buttons "stick" to their shifted/unshifted state when selected, so they show you which version of the hilighter is active.
- Reclicking on a selected hilighter now turns it off.
- Reclicking on a selected row/column label now toggles the hilighting. Note: if you shift-click a label, then clicking sets the hilighting to the regular hilighting; you have to click in the same way as the current hilighting to take it down completely.
- Added "ESC" button (with eraser icon) that disables current hilighting (it was about the only thing you couldnt do with the mouse!)
- New "Possibility Numbers (when hilighted)" color option in preferences lets you use a different color for the possibility digits when the square is hilighted. Many people prefer white to the default green in this instance.
- Susser now recognizes files of type ".fetch" to be the same as ".url" url list files (.url has a special meaning under Windows)
- Changeable colors can no longer have 0 saturation, as this was apparently causing some problems on some Linux implementations.
- Initial squares are now lightly shaded on printouts and graphic puzzle drags (unless your printer is totally lame...)
- Fixed crashing bug when you used the comprehensive consequence tree hilighter (shift-t) and hilighted a pinned square.
- Use Line Connectors, Concise Defuction Output and File -> Half Sized Puzzles preferences were not being saved/restored properly.
- If you solved the puzzle incorrectly when in Marquis de Sade Masochism Mode, the Susser would congratulate you! Thats sadistic, not masochistic...
- Graphic puzzle OCR was claiming that hints were being turned off after load, but this was no longer true; message removed.
- Set Initial Squares now properly updates the "changed" state of the puzzle, and also resets the Undo stack (since this operation cannot be properly undone at present).
