Debate Timer 1.1.1
Debate Timer is a program to manage your personal tasks more>>
Debate Timer 1.1.1 is a program to manage your personal tasks. Instead of always having to reset your timer during a round, Debate Timer keeps track of speeches , cross examination, and prep time so you never screw the other team out of those valuable ten seconds again. You can also use the speaking feature if you have a bad habit of not calling out time for your partner or for students that you are judging.
Speech and Debate Timekeeper 2.0.2
Speech and Debate Timekeeper is a collection of two multi-platform timers for all speech and debate events! more>>
One is a debate timer with speech order and time limits preprogrammed for Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, Parliamentary, Public Forum, and miscellaneous debate formats. It also tracks prep time for both sides. The other timer was created for individual events. All time limits are user adjustable.
These timers give visual and/or vocal time signals at user defined intervals so that you will never have to give manual time signals or frequently look at the time. At the end of each speech, cross-examination, or preparation, the timer automatically sets itself to time the next thing that needs timing at the push of a button.
No stopwatch or general purpose timer comes this close to fulfilling the role of a dedicated human timekeeper in a debate round.
Main features:
- Simple stopwatch style interface simultaneously shows time elapsed and remaining. Buttons are large so that they can be finger pressed on PDAs.
- Visual time signals on a color coded background indicating minutes or seconds remaining.
- Spoken time signals or tones, including protected minute alerts for points of information in constructive speeches of Parliamentary debates.
- Tracks speech order and prep times. Default time limits are set according to the selected event and are adjustable.
- The name of the speech or task being timed is displayed in the title of the window.
- Navigational buttons set the timer to time the previous or next task.
- High contrast display setting with black text on a white background.
- Context sensitive help screens are available from drop down menus.
Superstition 1.0
Superstition is a set of 7 icons about human Superstitions more>>
The initial inspiration for this icon set is the song "The Artist" by Big Rude Jake (Bio: http://www.maplemusic.com/artists/brj/bio.asp). If you have heard the song I think youll draw a connection, though I have tried to avoid offending anyone and have excluded any drawings depicting religious objects.
When I was 4 or 5 years old my family spent the night at my grandmother and grandfathers house, which was a cottage in a pine tree forest near Hanover, Ontario. Sometime that night I woke up and my gaze fell on the night sky outside the bedroom window. I remember clearly seeing a shooting star briefly arc above the pine trees and then I fell back to sleep.
The "shooting star" icon is composed from that personal memory.

<<lessCuriosityAndVanity 1.1.0
Publish information in your local area in such a way that everyone in that area can access it more>> Publish information in your local area in such a way that everyone in that area can access it
CuriosityAndVanity is a new way of thinking about networking: currently, we have the concepts of internet and of intranet, the former designed to be a global and public communication medium and the latter designed to be a local and private communication medium.
CuriosityAndVanity will address the needs of a local and public communication medium.
Imagine the following scenario: you go to a public place where you meet other people with a laptop or post pc device and you would like to know something about these people and to share with them some information about yourself as well. You want to market yourself and see the marketing of others. You want to express your ideas to unknown people nearby.
Or you go to a museum and you want to browse information regarding the operas you see in the museum by using your laptop or post pc device.
Or you want to broadcast the music you composed, the videos you shot or the webpages you created to the people living in your neighborhood.
Or you are part of a political, religious or other kind of entity and you want to share your ideas and maybe some documentation with others.
In a few words, you want to publish information in your local area in such a way that everyone in that area (including yourself) can access this information.
This is the kind of things that CuriosityAndVanity make possible with just a few clicks, provided that many people decide to use it. Thats why CuriosityAndVanity is currently free to install, use and redistribute, provided that you accept its license.
The possibilities of CuriosityAndVanity are endless, limited only by your own creativity.
Enhancements
- Improved User Interface.
Powder 110
A Roguelike designed for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS more>> A Roguelike designed for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS
To understand POWDER, you should first understand roguelikes. "Roguelike" is a term applied to a wide variety of games which share a common inspiration from the game Rogue.
A non-exhaustive list of such games would be: ADOM, Nethack, Crawl, Diablo (I & II), Moria, and Angband. Apologies to the many excellent roguelikes not listed.
What characterizes these games? The exact specifications are a matter of debate but these are a few of them:
- Tactical play. The unit of action is based on the individual adventurer. The game is not twitch oriented (like Quake, rewarding reflexes & well trained actions) nor is it strategy oriented (like Civilizations or Warcraft, requiring working on the large picture)
- Based in Hack and Slash. A roguelike isnt primarily about plot development or telling a story. It is about killing things and acquiring treasure.
- Random games. A roguelike is a dungeon crawler where no two games are the same. The maps are different, the items are different, there are no guaranteed win paths.
- Permadeath. You die, that is it. No restoring a savegame. Good roguelikes delete your save game after loading them. This is compensated by the replayability of the game.
- Complex interactions of properties. While the commands for a roguelike are simple, the potential interactions are pretty complicated. My favourite example is equipping a silver ring as a weapon in order to damage a creature vulnerable to silver, but not ones other weapons. [Editor: This matches the Hack branch of the roguelike tree, not the Angband branch]
- Steam rolling monsters. If a critter is in your way, and weak, you shouldnt even notice it is there.
For more information about roguelikes there is the Rogue Basin, a Wiki documenting this genre, and the Temple of the Roguelike, a newsite tracking developments in the field.
Having defined Roguelike, POWDER is easy to describe: A Roguelike designed for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS.
How to Win
Descend into the depths of the dungeon until you reach the foul daemon known as "He who the author cannot spell consistently", or, Baezlbub. When you have slain Baezlbub in heroic combat, or, if Baezlbub dies in any way, retrieve his black heart and bring it to the surface world.
You may then go the nearest newsgroup such as rec.games.roguelike.misc, and post YAAP (Yet Another Ascension Post).
Enhancements
- Two new exciting changes in this release. First we have a new spell: Animate Forest, for those who were wondering what the point of the Grow Forest spell was. Second we have the run mode which lets you auto-follow corridors, hopefully cutting your keystrokes substantially.
- Daemon now has the a in the summon daemon spell description. (FEG)
- If a daemon decides not to be summoned, an a is put in the daemons name.
- PSP character dumps should now say PSP Version rather than Linux version. (Dave Hong)
- If you were in the habit of quitting without saving, the random number seed would keep being the same between games, resulting in very similar games. For those keeping track, yes, this was caused by my naive attempts to make things *more* random. (Erik Spigel)
- If you manually climb a ladder while autoprompt is enabled you no longer are immediately prompted to climb back up the ladder when you get to the other side.
- New Run command, r for SDL users, which will cause you to run in that direction until something interesting happens. You will turn corners if there is only one way to do so. You can interrupt by hitting a key / pressing a button, useful if you find yourself running a closed loop. As the name implies, this is not meant to be some super safe way to explore the map. (PBP)
- Vi keys now support the Ctrl modifier to turn them into safe walk (David Damerell, Cuboidz)
- New spell: Animate Forest (Adam Boyd)
- When level teleporting via Wishing, do not start on same square as a monster.
- Diminishing returns on piety gains when gods already like you.
- List of items in character dump should now match order of list in inventory. (Meddyan, Cuboidz)
- Soul Suck spell no longer grants caster spells or skills that are present only due to items such as staves. (Eilu)
- Creatures that die underground should no longer have their corpse and items float to the surface. (Meddyan)
- Properly assign guilt to party responsibly for filling holes with boulders. (Meddyan)
- Properly credit kills for creatures that die from suffocation from a boulder you place. (Meddyan)
- The support programs now include cstring.h so should compile with the latest gcc. (Joe B)
- Fixed the #define guard in stdafx.h (Malte Helmert)
AssaultCube 1.0.3
Free and open source first-person-shooter game for your Mac more>> Free and open source first-person-shooter game for your Mac
AssaultCube, formerly ActionCube, is a free first-person-shooter based on the game Cube. Set in a realistic looking environment, as far as thats possible with this engine, while gameplay stays fast and arcade. This game is all about team oriented multiplayer fun.
Story
Well, there is no story. AssaultCube is a great game about two teams fighting each other.
The Cubers Liberations Army (CLA)
Little is known about the goals and motivation of this small but feared Terrorist group. Their activities are as diverse as their members. With ex-military, anarchists, religious fanatics, conspiracy theorists, hippies stuck tripping, free software fanatics, or simply severely mental disordered persons or bored youngsters, this organization is a pool for radicals from across the globe. Their operations range from simple annoyances (such as introducing large amounts of mariuana-smoke into the air conditioners of offices or malls) to well planned gruesome bombings, choosing civilians as well as politicians, lobbyists or religious leaders and their staff as targets. "Terror for the sake of terror, for you all suck!" seems to be their motto.
The Rabid Viper Special Forces (RVSF)
An elite group of armed special forces, but not the kind you;d expect. These guys are battle worn fighters and mercenairies, who might have been just a little too trigger happy and up for glory to fit into any other kind of elite squad. Not suitable where lives are to be spared and private or public property to remain unharmed. The backrounds and funders of this extravagant task-force remain well concealed, for obvious reasons.
Their primary targets are highly unpredictable terrorists and organized criminals such as the CLA where intelligence, infiltration and stealth would be just a waste of time. First shoot, then ask questions, if anyones left to ask is the primary approach to their job.

Diagnil 1.2
Diagnil - solve diagramless crossword puzzles more>>
The diagramless puzzle is a crossword variant where only word clues are provided; word locations are not disclosed. (If a grid is supplied, it is completely blank.) Solving a diagramless puzzle requires determining not only the words but also their correct placement on the grid.
Despite the ubiquity of standard crosswords, the diagramless variety remains much less popular. Why this is so can be debated. One plausible reason is that diagramless puzzles are viewed as overly difficult.
Though not suitable for beginners, they are easier to solve than is often presumed.
A second, more justifiable reason is that the solving mechanics can be tedious, especially when working on paper.
Although the intellectual challenge of diagramless puzzles is appealing, the awkwardness of frequently redrawing to converge on the correct word layout can sap the enjoyment from what should be recreation. While brilliant solvers are undaunted, mere mortals wear out their erasers.
