iCal Helper is an example of a rapidly prototyped tool to fulfill a specific task using AppleScript Studio. The problem is the lack of scripting support in Word + Entourage Special Edition, which make easy transfer of calendar events from Entourage to iCal difficult.

Also, the lack of recurring tasks in iCal, forces many tasks in Entourage to be entered as calendar events. iCal provides an easy to manipulate interface to float its window above Entourage 2001 running in Classic and a task and/or calendar list can be read and entered. The resulting information is sent to iCal. Includes source code.

IMDb Helper 1.0b3 is popular among many users as a simple but efficient application which eases the search and retrieval of information about movies and TV shows from the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) Web site. This product has reached "End-Of-Life" status.

No further updates will be provided. The source code has been released to the public domain without license. You may modify the source code freely. I developed it because I wanted a way to retrieve only the information that I was interested in for a movie/TV show, namely cast and crew, memorable quotes, trivia and goofs.

Known issues:

• If nothing seems to be happening when displaying a title's info, that is normal. The app is still downloading data from IMDb. Download times depend on what Internet connection you use. Check the status messages and/or Internet Connect (if you are using AirPort or a modem) to ensure that there is network activity.
• All of the menu items do not work, except About, Hide and Quit.
• Some strange codes e.g. 233 may appear in titles. That's normal. I haven't figured out how to translate that into human-readable characters yet. However, displaying these titles' info may cause the app to crash.

Future improvements:

• Multithreading! I think that this is especially important for an application like IMDb Helper.
• Custom application icon.
• Improved About panel.
• Help contents.
• Saving movies/TV shows to a favorites database.

UTAmp.ini Helper 1.00 is created to be a useful program with the ability to prompt you for your Unreal Tournament music folder, and then retrieve a listing of all ".umx" files within that folder. It will then use this information to generate a new UTAmp.ini with an alphabetized list of all of your songs. Font Book Helper changes the icon thats used to represent the printer or outline font parts of Adobe PostScript Type 1 fonts from Font Books default gray icon to a red one, visually reminiscent of the red PostScript "A" icon used in OS 9 and prior.
This has the effect of breaking up the grayish visual monotony that Font Book introduced, and makes fonts and font types easy to identify even at a quick glance.
It may also clear up some confusion users have had with trying to get Font Book to "recognize" their fonts. If you recall, PostScript Type One fonts have "parts" that fall into 2 categories: the first part is the font suitcase which is said to contain the "screen" or "bitmap" half of the font, while the second part is the corresponding PostScript Type 1 font (aka the "printer" or "outline" half of the font).
Font Book cannot directly use or open the PostScript Type 1 outline part of a font. This is why theyll appear dimmed in the Open file dialog or why double-clicking on them in the Finder opens Font Book but produces no result. Instead, you should select or double-click the font suitcase part of the font (with a normal gray icon), and Font Book will automatically take care of copying the referenced outline fonts automatically.
Enhancements:
- Please note that Font Book Helper is only compatible with OS X 10.3.x; it does not yet work properly under 10.4.x.

Safari Helper 0.5 is a simple and salutary tool which can save and restore URLs (including tabs) that are currently loaded in Safari.

This is useful if you need to restart or shutdown your computer. Saved URLs can be restored anytime. Change colors of all links or just visited links, remove link underlines of all links or just visited links, and enable Debug menu. The Debug menu has some useful options, including importing/exporting bookmarks.
