EarthquakeX 1.1
EarthquakeX - Your Macintosh will experience random earthquakes more>>
EarthquakeX is a port of an old prank/joke control panel for System 7 called Earthquake. When installed, your Macintosh will experience random earthquakes. This version is a bit different from the old one, but the principal is still the same. The old version, being a control panel, allowed you to set the quake frequency, duration and richter level. This version acts more like an extension; user control over the quaking is not allowed (read tip below, however).
How do I use EarthquakeX?
Ideally, you should install this on the computer of someone who is smaller and weaker than you. Then simply double click the EarthquakeX icon. Its a faceless background app, so it will look as if nothing has happened. After a few seconds, your Mac should experience a tremor. If you wish to quit EarthquakeX, simply open up a Terminal window and type:
killall QUIT "Earthquake"
Tip:
You can change the frequency of the tremors, if you know how to use the Terminal. On the Mac where EarthquakeX is installed (make sure it isnt running!), open a terminal and type in:
defaults write com.stimpsoft.earthquakex quakechance -integer [%percent];
Where it says [%percent], put the percent with which a quake can happen. There is a chance for a quake every ten seconds. So for example, if you typed in "defaults write com.stimpsoft.earthquakex quakechance -integer 50;", there will be a 50% chance of a quake every 10 seconds. The default chance for a quake is 30%.
NOTE:
Earthquake was originally created by Marco Carra of SlimyFrog Software in 1994.
EarthquakeX is 159% freeware. You may redistribute the application as you see fit, without notification to myself, as long as no fee is collected.
Enhancements:
- Version 1.1: Works with OS X 10.4 (Tiger), universal binary.

This is the first version of the client, so there are probably some bugs, but Westlake Interactive wanted to get it out to people so they could see how it works and report bugs more>> This is the first version of the client, so there are probably some bugs, but Westlake Interactive wanted to get it out to people so they could see how it works and report bugs. This release changes the following:
- The "gamma" console command and the brightness slider in the Options dialog now properly work in QuakeWorld 3Dfx.
- Sound files downloaded from servers now are saved with the "WAVE" file type, making them easier to edit/load into other programs.
- Fixed the problem with default.cfg settings always being written to the config.cfg file. You no longer need an empty "default.cfg" file in the "qw" folder to retain your original config settings. This should also fix problems with settings like "rate" not saving when you quit. Some settings like "pushlatency" are not normally saved by QuakeWorld, to change these permanently you have to put them in an autoexec.cfg file in the QW folder.
- Added a better error message for when you launch QuakeWorld and its not in the Quake folder.
- Included the latest QuakeFinder, which now lets you set your skins and other player characteristics.
- Added a new splash screen pict, thanks to Craig Mullins and David Candland!

ioquake3 1.34-rc2
ioquake3 - modded binary distribution of Quake 3 engine more>>
Our permanent goal is to create the open source Quake 3 distribution upon which people base their games and projects. We also seek to have the perfect version of the engine for playing Quake 3: Arena, Team Arena, and all popular mods. This distribution of the engine has been ported to many new platforms and has had a slew of new features added, along with massive bug extermination. While we dont have PunkBuster (and never will), we do have more security for servers and clients from various bugfixes which arent in ids client.
Enhancements:
- Fix 100% CPU usage on idle dedicated server.

Quake 4 Updater - Update for the popular 1st person shooter game more>>

As Matthew Kane, gamers invade the alien stronghold, fighting alone, along side other Marines, and in mechanized walkers and hover tanks as they encounter the Strogg and their disturbing amalgamations of man and machine.
Built on id Softwares revolutionary DOOM 3 technology, QUAKE 4 also features fast-paced multiplayer competition modeled after the speed, style and feel of QUAKE III Arena.
Enhancements:
- Version 1.3: This is an official update for Quake 4. It will fully update any previous version of Quake 4 to version 1.3. It is recommended for all users.
- This update for QUAKE 4 includes several new multiplayer maps, two new game modes, and the new Napalm Gun.
- Notes for Mod Users: Due to the vast number of updates and new functionality in the 1.3 Point Release, mods will have to be updated to the 1.3 code by each respective mod author in order to run correctly on the 1.3 version of QUAKE 4. Information regarding mods and news related to the QUAKE 4 SDK can be found at http://www.iddevnet.com/quake4/Quake4SDK. Aspyr does not provide any technical support for mods. With the update, Macintosh systems with an Intel Dual Core processor, which uses the SMP, will have a performance jump of 15 to 30 percent. In short, systems with this technology will see the game run faster and smoother than before. As with any new technology, SMP is reliant upon several components working in unison. Such components include the motherboard, CPU, GPU, system ram and sound card.
- Fixes/Changes:
- dual core support
- a fixed pure server system
- fixed widescreen and aspect ratio support
- fixed server IP information within non-dedicated server.

Quake 3 Launcher 1.0
The purpose of this application is to free up as much of your physical memory as possible before loading Quake3. Our use for the application was for Davids iMac more>>
Quake 3 Launcher 1.0 has been developed as an effective way for you to select quit all applications and thereby helping free up as much of your physical memory as possible to later make loading Quake3 easier. This is used for for David's iMac. It has 160MB of ram and when you turn off VM the finder sucks up 44MB of the ram. When you loaded quake you would run out of free memory and the textures would not show up.
With Quake3 Launcher you can free up that extra memory. Quake3 Launcher takes up 64k of ram and when the finder is quit thats a lot better than the 44MB it used. With all that extra memory cleared up Quake3 runs perfectly.
