Jaspers DRIMaker 1.21
Jaspers DRIMaker - automatically create HDRI pictures from your photos more>>
So in the end, the manual technique that people do in e.g. Photoshop, is simulated.
You will find more information about this kind of technique on this page. Everything you need is an exposure sequence in JPEG/TIFF format.
My aim in this implementation is to get the most natural results, as i think that for photographers the whole DRI thing is made to compensate the bad dynamic range of digital sensors. If the final image has a greater dynamic range than the human eyes could normally adapt to, you have gone much too far imho.
Enhancements:
- Saving is possible again (in v1.2 was a missing connection!)

iMovie 3D Cube effect 1.0 is a full featured and advanced iMovie plug-in which takes your clip, and wraps it around a cube spinning in 3D space. the effect additionally supports fold-to and unfold-from effects. You have control over the cubes size, 3D zoom effect, and rotation speed.
Note: this is a technology demonstration. it shows what we can do, but leaves most possibilities unexplored (e.g. more than one direction of rotation, animated lenses, multiple 3D shapes etc). this was done intentionally.

DOFC - Depth of Field Calculator 1.6
DOFC is a handy calculator for the depth of field, no matter what camera you?ve got more>>
Its the perfect companion for the Apple PowerBook or iBook you probably carry to store and touch-up your digital images.
DOFC is a tool that will make a nice addition to your shooting set-up, whether you shoot for soft Bokeh in portraits or ultimate sharpness in panoramic images.
Depth of Field, or DoF for short, is the distance from the camera which appears in focus. I use the word appear for good reason: Technically, there is only one single distance which is in focus. But as the human eye is easily fooled, there are adjacent areas in front and behind the subject which appear to be in focus as well.
Sharpness depends on the circumstances, but in general people see things as being sharp if a single dot doesnt expand too much. For 35mm film, the Diameter of Least Confusion, DoLC for short, is 0.029 mm -- if a single dot gets bigger than this on your slide or negative, people will see it as out of focus. Other formats have other DoLCs, and its not brain surgery to calculate them.
But its a major pain.
Everything outside this field will get blurred in the final picture. The blur can be used to make people or subjects stand out but sometimes blur is unwanted, as in landscape images. However, not knowing the DoF makes it difficult to get the right amount of blur. Theres much to read about this, please note the links I provided on the left if youre curious abut the DoLC. If you dont care, as I do, no problem.
There are tons of lists where you can look up the DoF for any given lens/f-stop combination, but with digital still cameras, everything changed. As lenses are specified with the same focal lengths as for 35 mm cameras, none of the former lists will work for your digital cam. The smaller sensor size of digital still cameras makes the focal length of your 35mm lenses longer and the DoLC gets tighter.
The Depth of Field Calculator
Knowing everything about DoF and DoLC doesnt help me in any real world situation. Having used my Nikon 35mm cams for years, I have a good feeling for all of my lenses. But the D70s changed everything.
Even worse, switching between 35mm film, Nikon DX, 1/3" and 2/3" video cameras requires a lot of paper to be carried around to calculate the DoF in any given situation. Carrying my Apple iBook works for me, as all the glass and lighting are a lot to handle on location. Hence I remembered my roots as a programmer and made this little Widget.
The solution
This Widget is a handy calculator for DoF, no matter what camera youve got. It is the perfect companion for the Apple PowerBook or iBook you probably carry to store and touch-up your digital images. DOFC will hopefully make a welcome addition to your shooting setup. If you have any questions regarding this little thing, please contact me.

Prompt! Lite 7.0
Prompt! Lite is a teleprompter software more>>
The Video output of the scrolling text is reflected from a half silvered (pellix) mirror and the camera shoots through the other side of the mirror so that the talent is looking into the camera but reading the reflection of the text. This requires lots of software and hardware in order to achieve the same results as Prompt! and a laptop computer or computer monitor.
By placing the laptop computer between the talent and the camera the talent can read text from the top of the laptop screen and still appear to be looking at the camera if the camera is far enough back using a long lens.
Trial and effort is the key to getting a natural look to this process but the further the camera is from the subject, the better. If the talent will be controlling their own scrolling then mouse control is the best and if you have long mouse cord, thats even better. There is a built-in function to allow someone else to control the speed by using the keyboard or mouse. Use both if you like.
Prompt! also mirrors the text and displays at multiple resolutions.
Main features:
- Text can be imported and exported
- Simple text editing is available
- Native files can be saved
- User customizable controls
- Macintosh or Windows playback
- Control over font size
- Mirrors text display on screen
- Mouse or keyboard control
- Lite version available
- Multiple resolutions
Version restrictions:
- Free download version imports and scrolls 2500 words. Professional version has this restriction lifted.
Enhancements:
- Prompt! comes in two applications. Prompt on black covers the monitor(s) with a black mask and eliminates the chance of changing applications while using the application and Prompt, the other application, is a floating window and does not draw black on other monitors allowing you to open other applications easily. Using both applications at the same time is not recommended.
- Prompt! now is compatible with most PowerPoint/Keynote wireless remote control units.

CornerFix 1.1.0.1
CornerFix 1.1.0.1 is yet another extremely useful utility for everyone. It actually corrects for color dependent vignetting in digital images more>>
CornerFix 1.1.0.1 is yet another extremely useful utility for everyone. It actually corrects for color dependent vignetting in digital images. All digital cameras are some extent subject to this; current generation sensors are highly IR sensitive, so there needs to be a IR filter somewhere. But the combination of sensors and IR filters also cuts into the red part of the spectrum, and do so in a way that depends on the angle through which the light bends as it travels to the sensor. So red gets cut more in the corners. Most DSLR's do this a bit - take a picture of a white wall and you will probably see it, although many cameras correct internally to a greater or lesser extent.
Leica's M8 has a particular problem in this regard. Historically, one of the advantages that rangefinder cameras had was that the back of a rangefinder lens can be a lot closer to the film surface than is the case for a film SLR - the SLR needs space for the mirror, which a rangefinder doesn't have. So in the film world, rangefinder lenses had a lot more design freedom that SLR lenses - wide-angle lenses that on a SLR had to be reverse telephoto designs could be normal designs on a rangefinder.
M8's can correct for this problem themselves, but there are two issues for users - firstly, your lenses must be coded, which means that it must be a Leica lens, either new enough to have been coded when it was manufactured, or one that has been sent to the factory to be upgraded. So anyone with a non-Leica lens or one that can't be upgraded is out of luck, unless they somehow code the lens themselves. The second problem is that the M8's correction is "one size fits all"; it's designed for average situations, and sometimes doesn't do well in unusual lighting.
CornerFix allows the cyan corners problem to be corrected for any lens, in more or less any lighting situation, by post processing the camera's image file. The right hand side of the main window in the screen shot shows the corrected image. CornerFix is available for the Mac and for Windows. It's free and open source, released under the GPL. Note however that image must be a DNG formatted file - CornerFix doesn't work with TIFF or JPEG files.
Enhancements: Jul 15 2009
- Devignetting application for Leica M8 digital cameras;
- Fixed the "cyan corners" problem when using wide lens with IR filters and decodes data in the M8's MakerNotes
