  1. 100% Web-Based Interface: The Web Help Desk features an intuitive, easy to use, graphical tabbed interface. Administrators, Technicians, and Clients need only a web browser to utilize the application. Remote access from any location is possible by anyone with an internet connection and a web browser, regardless of platform.
  2. Cross Platform Technology: The Web Help Desk offers installers for Mac OS X Server, Windows 2000 Server or later, Linux, and Solaris. Because its written in Java, the Web Help Desk runs on any server with Java 5 installed (included in Windows and Linux installers). Rember 0.3.5b is designed as a useful front-end GUI to the 'memtest' command line memory testing program which can help you easily select the number of test loops, as well as the amount of memory to test. There is a 'Log' tab that will allow the user to monitor memory testing. The user can toggle a 'verbose' switch to limit the amount of output.The user can choose to quit Finder and other applications.

Defective memory can cause computers to malfunction, crash, and behave in a variety of ways which can sometimes baffle end users and computer technicians alike. Apple provides hardware test CDs with most of their products, and there are some third-party utilties for Mac OS X which perform memory testing. In my experience, these tools have not always been able to quickly and efficiently diagnose memory problems. Rember has been designed to simplify the testing, and diagnosis of these problems.

This software is free, and is covered under the GNU GPL. Please read accompanying "COPYING" file for more info.

Backing up data that is important to you is a step that ALL computer users should practice as much as possible.
In the event of system faillure, the importance of having stuff backed up is tremendous. When attempting to re-install system software, or repair damaged system software on your computer, I recommend backing up anything that is of importance to you.
This may include all of your data, or one file. You should take the initiaitive to backup any important data to anoter piece of media before attempting to use unArchive, or any system disk utility for that matter. As a Macintosh Service Technician, I have seen data loss occur, when it could have been easily prevented had the user taken a few minutes of their time to preserve information.

- Archive (moving a Mac OS X system into a folder, for removal, or partial re-installation)
- unArchive (moving an archived Mac OS X system from a Previous Systems folder, back into the root of that drive).

    • The Web Help Desk features an intuitive, easy to use, graphical tabbed interface. Administrators, Technicians, and Clients need only a web browser to utilize the application. Group various locations and departments to allow the tracking of requests from separate entities within your organization to be centrally managed. Jobs can also be assigned to a Tech Group pool, so your technicians can select jobs as they become available.
  5. Client Request and Self Help
    • Clients have a simple interface to submit requests, view updates on previous requests, and self-serve with the FAQ Knowledge Base. The Help Request form dynamically updates as the end user defines what type of help request they are submitting. Custom fields, in the form of text boxes, popup menus, radio buttons or check boxes, are displayed dynamically based on the Problem Type chosen by the client end-user.

    • The Web Help Desk software is deployed as a Java servlet running under the Apache Tomcat 5.5 servlet container (included in the installation). A compatible Java 5 Runtime Environment (JRE) is included for all platforms except Mac OS X and Solaris, which have a pre-installed JRE. Because the application is 100% pure Java, you have the freedom to install the Web Help Desk server-side software on the operating system of your choice without the worry of OS lock-in.

"Photometrics X, formerly Lighting Designer Photometrics was created for theatrical lighting designers and technicians.

It allows easy predictions of the size of a pool of light given the type of lighting instrument used and the throw distance.

Photometrics X will also recommend a specific lighting instrument given a desired throw distance and field diameter of the beam of light.

Lighting Designer Photometrics was created to ease the lighting design process by eliminating the need for tedious mathematical calculations adn triangulation.

Future versions of Photometrics X are in the process of being written, and will include a significantly larger repertoire of instruments as well as options for determining additional photometric data and a more flexible input system.

This application will allow the user to select the number of test loops, as well as the amount of memory to test. There is a Log tab that will allow the user to monitor memory testing. The user can toggle a verbose switch to limit the amount of output.The user can choose to quit Finder and other applications.
Defective memory can cause computers to malfunction, crash, and behave in a variety of ways which can sometimes baffle end users and computer technicians alike. Apple provides hardware test CDs with most of their products, and there are some third-party utilties for Mac OS X which perform memory testing. In my experience, these tools have not always been able to quickly and efficiently diagnose memory problems. Rember has been designed to simplify the testing, and diagnosis of these problems.
