We wrote this facts review program to eliminate some problems associated with paper work sheets. There is no copy machine, no hand correcting, and for students that have trouble with the pressure of timed tests, most of these puzzles allow them to practice independently with a timer. Best of all, these activities are perhaps a bit more fun than regular paper worksheets.
And what could be more fun that running an Aqua-style interface on a non-OSX PPC or Windows machine? Need to run your iMac lab under OS9 with only 256 colors? Hey, us, too. Specially optimized graphics insure that Aqua-style color gradients look good even at 256 colors.
Although many of the games in this application were designed with 8-10 year olds as the target audience, most ages from 7 and up will find suitable activities.

CSoM Math Practice 3.1.1 is specially designed to help you practice math (arithmetic, simple algebra and roman numerals) skills. Each skill (add, subtract, multiply, divide, algebra and roman numerals) has three skill levels (easy, medium and hard). The algebra problems are to solve for x. Select the desired skill and the skill level. A new problem will be displayed. Type the answer into the field provided and click on the "Enter" key (or press Enter/Return). If you are correct, you will see "Correct" displayed, and the Correct score will be incremented. If you are not correct, you will see "Incorrect" displayed, the correct answer will be displayed and the Incorrect score will be incremented.
Click on the "New Problem" button to get a new problem. If your answer is correct, the "New Problem" button will be pressed for you automatically after a few seconds. The % displayed is your overall score in percentage. Clicking on the "Reset" button resets all scores. Sound is supported. When you have ten correct answers you will hear applause. Sound can be turned on/off. Settings for sound, skill, and skill level are saved between sessions.

Each game has five turns and each turn is 30, 60 or 90 seconds long, selectable by the user. Words are chosen at random from a built-in dictionary; the player can choose short (2 - 4 letters), medium (4 - 6 letters) or long (6 - 8 letters).
With the start of each game or turn, the words start marching across the window in tickertape fashion; the player can choose slow, medium or fast speeds. The goal is to type as many of the words as possible before the time runs out; a countdown is provided.
If you type a word correctly before it starts to run off the window, the word disappears and you get ten points plus one point for each letter. The top ten scores are saved. Sound is supported; the player can turn sound on/off. Settings for sound, word length, speed and turn length are saved between sessions.
This game is suitable for both adults and kids from age six.

Playing Dicimoes is very simple. Getting good at it takes some practice. To start, drag any Dicimoe tile from the bottom of the screen onto the hexogonal play area. Next you drag another tile next to it. The sides of that tile that contact each other much match. From that point on, every tile you place must touch two or more other tiles.
To fit tiles you will need to sometimes rotate them. Click on a tile in the bottom area to rotate it, then you can drag it into place. You can use the arrow buttons at the bottom to move the game pieces around, if you need more space to build.
The Easy level forces you to place 6 tiles numbered 1 to 4.
The Hard level forces you to place 25 tiles, from 1 to 5.
The Insane level requires 25 tiles, numbered 1 to 6.
