Apple PowerBook G4 Graphics Update improves graphics stability for some 1.67-GHz PowerBook G4 computers.

The installer guides you through the steps to install the PowerBook G4 Graphics Update 1.0.

The PowerBook G4 Battery Updater improves the performance of batteries that may develop short run times. The update process will take about 15 minutes and must not be interrupted.

To upgrade the firmware on your battery, read through the instructions below. When youre ready, click Update. The PowerBook G4 Battery Updater is installed in Applications/Utilities.

During the update process your PowerBook G4 needs to be running, the power adapter must be plugged into a working power source and the battery should not be removed. Your battery will appear to have no charge and will not power your computer until the update process has been completed.

If the update is interrupted retry the update process again until successful. If you have more than one battery to update be sure to complete the update process before starting to update another battery.

1. Click Update to start the update process. The status bar shows the progress of the update.
2. Wait until the update is complete. When complete a dialog will show that your battery was successfully updated.
3. Remove your battery, then put your battery back into your PowerBook G4 for it to be recognized.
4. Repeat the calibration process for your battery, to get the longest running time possible.

G4 Icon Set is a collection of 12 icons that include the tank from Apples G4 commercial, the G4 towers, and all of the monitors included in the G4 package bundles. (including the 24-inch flat panel display!) I preview of some of the icons is shown below.

Apple iBook G4 Graphics Updater is recommended for the 12-inch 1GHz, and 14-inch 1.2GHz iBook G4. It updates the graphics driver to fix a compatibility issue that may exist with applications that use OpenGL.

When this update package is downloaded and installed it will replace the old ATIDriver.bundle with a new one.
The installer will guide you through the steps necessary to install the iBook G4 Graphics Update.

The Power Mac G4 SuperDrive Firmware Update 1.0 application installs new firmware on the SuperDrive which addresses an incompatibility with 4x DVD-R and 2x DVD-RW media, and the 2x SuperDrive in the Power Mac G4.

You must perform this update if you intend to use 4x DVD-R or 2x DVD-RW media in your Power Mac G4. This update also enables you to eject audio CDs that are copy-protected or have mastering errors.

This update is required only for the Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio), the Power Mac G4 (Quicksilver) and the Power Mac G4 (Quicksilver 2002) with an internal Apple SuperDrive.

Automatically mount file server volumes at system start up
Reconnector connects automatically to the correct file server and mounts the chosen volumes at startup. System requirements are a Power Macintosh with Mac OS 8, 9 or OS X.

A common problem is when the file server you are logged onto disappears from the desktop. Reconnector solves that problem and reconnects you automatically as soon the file server is available. This is a big problem especially with standalone computers (Application servers) which should be connected to certain file servers to function properly.

At startup it is common practice too have several applications launched after you have connected to the correct file server(s). Reconnector connects and launches the chosen applications. On top of that there is a useful function keeping those applications up and running. If a certain application terminates by mistake or by mistake or some malfunction, Reconnector will launch it again automatically.

Download and keep it in your Dashboard if you like it, but its more a proof of concept than something I would use daily. 6 to 8 %CPU (at 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4) is an overkill for just a silly clock.
