MacTidy - a standalone application that uses a graphical user interface (GUI). This allows quick porting of the "Tidy" source with minimal changes at the expense of slightly less flexibility.
Tidy for Mac OS checks and corrects HTML and XML to make it compliant with the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) HTML standards.
Enhancements:
- Updated the base "tidy" source code to the latest version available (01 Dec 02) for "classic" Tidy (future versions of MacTidy will use a new base "tidy" source code, called TidyLib). This version of the base "tidy" source code fixes many bugs, and adds many new features since the previous release - too many to list here.
- Output actual tab chars rather than spaces, to be compatible with versions of Tidy on other platforms.
- Add support for the Character Encoding popup menu.
- Add support for a separate dialog for additional configuration options specified on the command line.
- Add support for input files with no filetype/creator.
- Dim/undim the controls on the main dialog when a second dialog/Alert is being displayed/dismissed.
- Changed initialization code to support checking for 68000 based machines when compiled as 68020 code.
- Balloon Help updated for the new dialog layout. Improvements to the dialog layout for Mac OS X Aqua GUI.
- "Read Me First" documentation rewritten and delivered as a PDF document.

Extension Toy is a small AppleScript which enables you to hide or show file extensions in a specified folder.
If the selection contains a mix of hidden and visible extensions, it asks you to choose whether to show or hide them.

Very useful to figure out whether youve added an extension to a filename or not... or just to keep things tidy. Go play!

Tidy Up Windows is a small AppleScript which re-align the windows generated by Eudora. I like to have a vertical toolbar on the left hand side of my screen, adjacent to that I like to have the mailboxes window and then all my mailbox and mail message windows overlaid adjacent to the mailboxes list.

This script will re-align all open window, resizing and repositioning them so they stay in a nice neat arrangement.

Completly freeware.

Start OpenOffice.org is a double-clickable Mac OS X application that allows the user to easily open documents created by "OpenOffice.org".
It also provides an easy way to just launch "OpenOffice.org".
Enhancements:
- Fix problem with the "Application.applescript" and "Utility.applescript" scripts being too long to edit with Script Editor - moved some handlers around, removed unused code etc, and created new "ChangeHistory.applescript" file.
- Add support for Mac OS X 10.3.x Fast User Switching feature - each user has a different X11 DISPLAY. Original patches provided by Randolph Brown and others; support added to handle the actual X11 DISPLAY being used at runtime.
- Add Preferences dialog field for the preferred X11 DISPLAY.
- No longer need Direct to PostScript option.
- Add support for handling files with special shell characters and Unicode characters in their filenames. Based on idea by Roger Jolly.

HTML Tidy Widget widget allows you to use HTMLTidy to clean up your HTML code directly from your Dashboard.
Simply enter your HTML code and click Tidy It! and you will get nicely formatted, valid HTML, XHTML or XML, and a list of any errors and warnings encountered.
You can specify your configuration options on the back of the widget.
Enhancements:
- fixes a refresh bug when Tidying input text for the second time.

DreamCatcher is software that spellchecks web sites.
A nightmare of both novice and advanced web developers is finding a misspelling in their work. What is worse is a client or an end user finding a misspelled word. You lose credibility and just generally look bad. The problem is that it is difficult to spell check a Web site -- that is where DreamCatcher comes in.
DreamCatcher is a nifty utility to check for spelling errors on a web site. DreamCatcher moves through the pages of a given site checking both the text on the site as well as the text of linked Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF documents. DreamCatcher makes it easy to find where the misspellings are located on your site by highlighting the words in a web viewer.
Enhancements:
- Two html parsers are now available: the classic regex based DreamCatcher parser and now the new XML Tidy based parser. The default remains the DreamCatcher parser, but you can switch over to Tidy via the preferences.
- Tidy is stricter and probably more "correct" than the old DreamCatcher parser but as a consequence of that it does not handle malformed pages as well. Both parsers seem to be about the same speed, but Tidy seems to use less memory so Tidy might be the better choice if you need to scan huge pages.

X-ess Errors provides error names and descriptions for error codes from the vaults of BSD and Carbon/Classic esoteria.

X-ess Errors matches the standard error codes used by OS X with their names and descriptions, as are provided in the OS X programming frameworks. Thats it. It doesnt tidy up your hard disk, help you with your Math 105 homework, or give you advice on how to make a move on the cute guy/girl in the cubicle down the aisle*. It just...produces...error information. Which can be quite helpful (or mystifying) at times.
