Myster is a file sharing utility. Similar projects include Napster, Hotline and Gnutella. Myster allows you to share your files with others and download files being shared by others on the Myster Network, over the internet. But Myster isnt just any file sharing utility.

The Myster protocol and application have been developed in response to a cry for a peer-to-peer file sharing system which efficiently operates without the need for a central logistics server. By answering that cry, Myster takes the best of features in other file sharing utilities, raising the bar to a new level in distributed file sharing over the Internet.

401(ok) is a quick and dirty hack to allow iTunes 4.0.1 to share musicbeyond your local network.

It redirects incoming connections on port 4689 to port 3689. Thisallows for the iTunes music sharing server normally run on port 3689(but with limited access), to be reached on port 4689 globally.

Thelocal network limitation in the iTunes sharing server is achieved bysending server responses with a low IP time-to-live. By doing a localport redirection, the server responses are sent with the normal TTL,and the "subnet" limitation is eliminated.

AFS is a distributed filesystem product, pioneered at Carnegie Mellon University and supported and developed as a product by Transarc Corporation (now IBM Pittsburgh Labs). It offers a client-server architecture for file sharing, providing location independence, scalability and transparent migration capabilities for data.

What is OpenAFS?IBM branched the source of the AFS product, and made a copy of the source available for community development and maintenance. They called the release OpenAFS. Its available from the IBM Open Source site.

Toggle Guest Access should toggle guest access preferences if youve ever activated file sharing. Youll get an error if you havent.

I have tested the script over and over, but if youre worried, back up this file first:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleFileServer.plist.

Version it appears as clear text.

Share Clip is a small utility program to share the text portion of the clipboard between PC, Mac and Linux computers. This allows you to copy and paste between two computers the same as you would on one computer.
Share Clip is distributed as freeware. Source is RealBasic 2005, which cross compiles to Windows, Mac and Linux. If you have RB and want the source, send me an email.
Install : Mac Double click the dmg file to mount it, then drag the Share Clip application to your applications folder.
Enhancements:
- Proper UNICODE support across all platforms! This means you can copy smart quotes, French quote characters, euro signs, math symbols etc. back and forth between Windows and OS X without losing them along the way. Note that your application needs to support these characters too, some old applications dont support extended character sets. Text in the normal ASCII range should work as normal regardless.
- I have set the font on the clipboard text preview to Courier, as the default windows system font does not support most UTF8 characters. Hopefully this will not cause any issues.
- The Share Clip window now shows the local IP address, so you can easily see the address you need to connect to.
- Please be aware that I have not tested the Linux build - if you have problems with it, please let me know.

The Web PHP Interface AppleScripts along with Mac OS Xs Personal File Sharing (Apache web server), give you a web front-end for controlling Indigo via PHP.
